Yeah, the parents have to take a lot of the blame, but she's 19, she's old enough to make her own decisions.

Also laugh at the 'Me hungry'
Yeah, but she didn't go from 8st to 36st in the last 2-3 years.

At least at 19 she's got a decent chance to have a normal life with a lot of hard work and discipline, and probably surgery.

A bit overweight due to sedentary lifestyle or overeating rich foods is one thing, but this is the extreme end of the scale. The sheer amount of calories required to get to that weight is extreme, but to maintain it too! Wow. You really have to spend a lot of time eating REALLY bad foods - which goes to what has been said before - feeding should be classified as abuse, especially in children!

No fking will power.

Just been reading that and the comments.... I know she's massive, she knows she's massive and I know she's only young, but Im sorry you can't rely solely on other people to sort yourself out. She went to fat camp, it worked and when she left seemingly didn't do anything about keeping it up. She apparently was mad that when she came back to the UK her mum made excuses about not having time to make a healthy meal (complete BS, everyone has time to eat right) and so they went to the chippy. Im sorry but at 19, its not your mums responsibility (with a bad heart as well) to feed you good food. Its yours. You don't have to say yes to fish n chips, you can just as easily go buy the ingredients to make a decent salad.

But really, I reckon all these diet fads and boot camps are just a waste of time. They don't condition you. I know quite a few people now who have lost lots of weight via weight watchers style eating. You eat normally, you just don't eat too much. You don't even have to do any strenuous activity (though it does help), and it seems to reprogram your brain as to whats deemed a filling portion of food.

Makes me sad, I dont know the ins and outs of the case but im not sure i feel comfortable with the papers being there and taking photos of the girl in the ambulance who is seriously ill. Surely everyone has the right to privacy in this situation?

Yes, she is to blame, but as she couldn't leave the friggin house, her parents have a duty of care. They let her down, criminally, in my opinion. If she is like that, and they keep bringing her crap to stuff in her mouth, they are simply enablers, and equally as culpable.

I remember seeing a documentary on this girl a few years back. Seemed like a sweet girl, and she did really try to drop the weight whilst on the fat camp in America. In the program she then returned home due to her mum being ill (iirc) and you could see it all going downhill once she got back. I felt very sorry for her once she was home, you could see that her mum was/is the issue.

She or somebody else should have taken herself out the situation a long time ago.

Did you see the pictures? Her mother was pushing food into her as fast as it would go whilst she was still a toddler.

It's no good at all to bang on about "will power". She's never, ever known normal eating habits - it's either been excessive or the opposite. This is not someone who once was a normal weight, got "a bit depressed" when their cat died, and comfort-ate their way to 60 stone.

This is incredibly harsh, but what she really, really needs is for her feeder of a mother to drop dead, and then she might have a chance of living a normal life.

"She returned to the UK in June 2009 to look after her mother who has a heart condition.

But she reverted to old habits when she returned home.

'When I arrived my mum said she hadn't had time to prepare any healthy food so we had fish and chips instead,' she said.

'For that moment on, I had a niggling feeling that things weren't going to work out.'"

Miss Davis is said to have abandoned the latest diet doctors put her on to try to save her life.

'She's too big to get out herself and they've had to take the walls down. It is tragic for her. She's done all sorts to lose weight with fat camps in the States and a thousand diets.
And given up on them!

Earlier this year Miss Davis's mother, Lesley Davis, who herself weighs 18st, said of her daughter's condition: 'I feel guilty, of course I do.
'Georgia now has trouble walking. When we walk along together, she gets out of breath after a few steps. It worries me sick.' But her mother said Georgia is unwilling to face up to her problem and spends her days sitting in her room chatting to her friends on social networking sites.
She added that promised help from the NHS - from free gym membership to a personal trainer - had not materialised.
So...it's the NHS' fault now? Riiiight.
