They're targeting Clegg because he's sold his soul. They expect Cameron and the Tories to kick poor people, they're not surprised about that. Yes those bloddy torys again!!! kicking poor people, the last time they were in power they helped to make poor people with a bit of get up and go middle class and gave them someting to work towards...

Dont shoot the messenger. This is why they target the Lib Dems rather than the Tories. They expect these measures from the Tories.

Statements don't come much dumber than that.

There's nothing wrong with what Clegg's doing. He traded compromise for the opportunity to try to guide government policy.

A large chunk of his party seem to be too thick to follow that simple concept.

He's my MP and he used to put a lot of effort into constituency woes. I listen to him now and see the same man he was years ago.

They've organised one at his place in Sheffeid as well, just happens to be at the bottom of my road. Couldn't move for police this evening.

Then why are the Liberal Democrats as a party dying on their feet?

That's what they've always done, isn't it?

I'm not referring to their policies, I'm talking about how Clegg is trying to influence government.

Clegg is trying to influence Government?

Someone should inform the rest of the front bench.

Because their supporters never voted for them on the basis that they'd actually end up in government, making nasty decisions.

Or if they did accept that, that they'd end up in a coalition with Labour only. In which case why not vote Labour and be done with it?

I'm not sure how much more Clegg could have extracted from the coalition agreement than he did; if the alternative was to refuse to participate in a coalition then the Lib Dems truly are pointless.

Am I the only person who thinks this is completely out of order?

As it is parliamentary recess I would image Nick Clegg is out and about, so the only people in the home would be his wife and 3 kids.

It is one thing to protest outside his workplace, it is another to target his home.
I am with you on this , totally out of order to lay siege to his private home

some woman from this group got a right kicking on radio 5 live last night

I get the impression they're another political rent-a-mob who gain popularity amongst the deluded student types who follow what they're told rather than researching facts.

I unfortunately know a couple of people who have joined the group occupations that disrupted the lives of people trying to work, and from reading the ukuncut website I don't think I'm too wrong in my views.

That wouldn't be difficult, rent-a-cause protesters don't need to do much anyway as they're told where to go and what to do by the activists in charge.

As the original comment referred to people intimidating the Clegg household, unless Happy82 joins them it's irrelevant.

Why not?

fk them, I say.

Fair game, these self-serving bds.
You moron! Nick Clegg and his family weren't even at home. But his neighbours had to deal with this nightmare and their children were petrified.

These good for nothing scumbags should be locked up. Protesting outside someones home, it's outrageous.

Smegmore, I'd laugh like a drain if your next door neighbour made the national news as the head of some paedophile ring, and you had 2000 halfwitted scumbags outside your home throwing rocks, chanting, urinating against walls and leaving rubbish strewn everywhere. See how you fking like it.
