BBC told: only positive stories on Olympics allowed
Discussion
Afraid I can't give the source on this,
The beeb have been ordered by our very own Government to only report on good stories from the games and to ignore any negative press.
I guess I'm going to have to get me daily 'news' fix elswhere... slowly running out of news sources I perceive as in any way objective (not that the beeb was ever objective), any recommendations??
[Edited... to make more sense]

Oh right. It was poorly written, made it look like if the Government put out negative press the BBC had to ignore it.
I'm not surprised though, this whole Olympics thing is a farce. What did the Independent call it? The £14billion publically funded advertising campaign for the worlds worst companies, or something like that.

How about 2 of the DCMS select Committee saying that is BS?
I'd like it to be BS and I really hope it is.
A friend of the family is a beeb news presenter who is currently a little peeved having been told they will only report on the good news stories. I'd imagine that, if true there will be many other employees at the beeb feeling the same way...

So it isn't the BBC. It will be an editor in BBC News.A friend of the family is a beeb news presenter who is currently a little peeved having been told they will only report on the good news stories. I'd imagine that, if true there will be many other employees at the beeb feeling the same way...

Although the rogue air defence missile impacted a residential area it gives the council exciting new opportunities for redevelopment. Mr_B said:
My god ! Bloke on a car forum says it's true ? If only someone here gets told by another bloke in a pub today, that will be in confirmed then.
It's too late I'm afraid. I heard the exact same thing in a pub not more than a week ago from a very knowledgeable fellow. Actually imagine this is true, but where did the "by the government" bit come from? A bit of pressure from the spin doctors perhaps, but if there is any such order it will almost certainly be internal to the BBC itself. See who gets a Knighthood in the next couple of years if you want to be more specific.
