It depends on your definition of positive.

I'd view "OLYMPICS GIVEN TO FRANCE IN LAST MINUTE DEAL" as an incredibly positive turn of events.
Concur.

Afraid I can't give the source on this
Have you been sworn to secrecy or are you embarrassed to admit that the source is a voice in your head?

My god ! Bloke on a car forum says it's true ? If only someone here gets told by another bloke in a pub today, that will be in confirmed then.
It's too late I'm afraid. I heard the exact same thing in a pub not more than a week ago from a very knowledgeable fellow.

Actually imagine this is true, but where did the "by the government" bit come from? A bit of pressure from the spin doctors perhaps, but if there is any such order it will almost certainly be internal to the BBC itself. See who gets a Knighthood in the next couple of years if you want to be more specific.
Sorry this is rubbish.

The man in the pub I was in said it had nothing to do with the government

My man in the pub knows more than yours. He's ex SAS, and would have played for Newcastle if he hadn't sprained his ankle. Int the world of politics, his brother once had dinner with John Redwood, and thus he knows Conservative Party policy years in advance, and his Dad once met Michael Foot, so even if the Labour party get back, he's got that covered too.

Does he have a goatee?

In all seriousness, I thought I'd raise this as it pee'd me off when I heard about it over the weekend.

This would be easy to dispel by simply finding a negative story about the Olympics on the BBC.

Like this one from three days ago about the fact that the tickets haven't been selling as well as expected?

Bigger they are the harder they fall, as mine would say.

If we are playing Top Trumps then I will show my hand.

How about 2 of the DCMS select Committee saying that is BS?
What was it Sir Humphry said? Never believe anything until it has been officially denied.

Alternatively the BBC are giving us non-stories about the games instead; some bint has just been wingeing about how her ebay torch auction got bid up to some ridiculous figure.

A fking ebay auction is now worthy of airtime; worse than that they interviewed the bint, she was incoherent and appeared to be unaware of cesspit nature of ebay auctions.
