I'm just sick of this country

Can't they see the horrendous damage these people are doing to the fabric of society

They are caught red handed doing this most disgusting crime against humanity and they are now lowering the fines

I'm telling you this is the end of the UK

I moved into a new house the otherweek. Previous tennants left the bin overflowing and I had no idea when collections were.

Better lock me up eh?

It's bin collections for goodness sake. There are way more important things going on in life to get stressed about.

I think - and hope - that thinforth is remonstrating, somewhat sarcastically, against the very idea of bin fines in the first place wink

I'm lucky if i remember the right day to put the bins out let alone the correct hour

I didn't even know there was a correct hour

Have we really reached a point where there are laws stating at which hour bins must be put out

There are dolites to be kept in the style to which they've become accustomed, my good man. Do your duty!

Common sense would be to fine the council if someone has an overflowing bin as they clearly aren't collecting often enough.........

I was threatened with a fine a few years ago because i hadn't put my recycling bin out for 3 months

The fact i hadn't put my normal bin out for 3 months either seemed to escape them as i was on the other side of the world

Sorry, but how can you put a bin out early? It goes out when I go to work, or it doesn't go out at all. What happens if you go away on holiday? Do you get fined for putting out a couple of days early, and if you choose not to, do you then get fined when you back for having a bin that's to full?

Meanwhile, for the organized criminal gang that call themsevles 'travellers'...

As the News reported, 18,500 gallons of effluent were removed and extensive repairs were carried out at Smithy Fen in January 2008, amid fears the waste was a health hazard.
Many of the problems appeared to have been caused deliberately – including manholes covered with asphalt, stopped up drainage, and sewage contaminated with oil – and a notice served on families to carry out maintenance was ignored.

If they were pensioners who didnt pay their council tax, they would be behind bars.

The BBC said:
almost 5,000 fixed penalty notices worth £215,955 were issued between May 2010 and April 2011 for offences such as using the wrong sacks for recycling or overfilling wheelie bins.
My cardboard recycling is currently sitting outside in a Tesco carrier bag because the bag the council gave me blew away. eek
