Julian Assange loses extradition appeal at Supreme Court
Discussion
You can believe in a convoluted and implausible multi step conspiracy, or you could be really radical and daring and suggest that some prosecutors might genuinely take the view that Assange might, not must, but might have a case to answer. He might be innocent. Sweden is not known for a hideously unfair legal system, and if anything is too soft on sex crimes. Those of us with a cynical world view that does not embrace fantastical theories might wonder why Assange doesn't just face up to the legal process. The English Courts gave him a fair hearing. He lost his challenge. Maybe time to acquire a spine?

We understood you just fine. Why don't get in touch with Assange? I'm sure he'd be interested in learning how being taken into custody is in his best interest.
If he raped someone, I doubt very much being taken to trial where that was alleged to have been committed would be in his best interests. His behaviour just makes me wonder which crimes he's genuinely fearful of being found guilty of...
As for him not being an idiot, his whole approach to life doesn't make me think he's a genius.

Just to clarify, it's not a rape at knifepoint he is being accused of. JA stayed at one of the victims and had sex with her while he was visiting Sweden, but he also had sex with another woman, after finding out both women demanded him to test for STDs, after that it was treated as a rape case.Breadvan72 said:

Had he done that in the first place he wouldn't have had to spend an additional 2 years locked up in the Ecuador Embassy. Whatever sentence he gets (if any) is now +2 years for being a muppet, he's never getting those years back.Assange went to Sweden and applied to stay there because he felt he wasn't likely to be extradited from there to the USA.
He wasn't likely because he would only be extradited if what he was accused of was viewed as a crime in Sweden which is unlikely.
It only became a country he didn't want to be in when he was wanted by the police there. Up to that point he was doing what he could to get permission to stay there.

Indeed. The bloke seems like a weasel. He wasn't likely because he would only be extradited if what he was accused of was viewed as a crime in Sweden which is unlikely.

I believe it was yes.
Then he needed to be more careful. He needs to MTFU and get it over with.
When one reflects on the very laid back view on rape in the Swedish justice system (see my previous posts), one does wonder why JA is being chased so adamantly.

Perhaps because they don't want to set a precedent that leaving the country lets someone get away with whatever it was they were accused of. HenryJM said:
