Scum here, scum there, scum everywhere - even on our field.

From the article..

One traveller, who gave his name as John, said their decision to stop there had been prompted by frustration at a lack of permanent traveller sites provided by the county council.

He said: "We're sick of this happening seven days a week. As soon as we leave and go somewhere else, we'll have the same thing again."

Maybe if these parasites paid some fking tax etc etc, they wouldnt have a right to moan about the council not providing them with permanant sites. Surely though, even though they go on about being travellers 24 hours a day, what they really mean is "we want to live in caravans" as they don't really seem to keen on travelling. Shame really as they could all fk off somewhere else if they did.

The Dale Farm lot had been there for over 10 years (and most of them still are there) so they dont seem to do much travelling either. They were offered council houses and turned them down.

Imagine if they took the council houses, then everyone would be up in arms that travellers - who dont want them - are taking the houses while others wait for years on the list.

And, if while they're at it, the council would like to provide me with a free plot of land on which to build my house, it would be most welcome rolleyes

Why would the school have to close?

The lovely travelling folk don't steal anything, don't threaten anyone and most certainly don't dump piles of rubbish everywhere

How about this heart warming story - because they are breeding so fast, a local council is looking to spend £1.2m on expanding a site for them.

And how will they get the land? Possibly by compulsory purchase.

It is wrong on every level. This country is seriously screwed up.

Exactly, it'll be a cultural experience for the children and staff, complete over-reaction I feel.

Indeed, I hope someone immediately arrests the School Headmaster or however made the decision to close the school on grounds of racism.

It's about time the government and other bodies came to terms with the un-PC notion that the traveling lifestyle is not appropriate in modern Britain. The quaint idea of gypsies traveling around doing seasonal jobs such a fruit picking and suchlike are long gone and anyway we now have eastern Europeans doing that. With the best will in the world, it must be simply impossible to live the traveling life without turning to some sort of criminal activity just to survive. Public money should be there to help those that want to to live a settled live and therefor be able to be a part of the community and hopefully contribute to it. The rest should not be encouraged to believe they have some sort human right to expect the settled communities to provide facilities for them without making any positive contribution.

Thanks for posting this, saved me the trouble.

Wokingham council has it's own Travelling Community Liason Officer.

What the mincing fk???

I'm seriously thinking about selling my house, buying a pot to piss in, taking up residence in the local park & demanding my free pitch.

PS: what happened to the TGB cartoon post?

I do remember reading a possible solution to Dale farm on another forum I frequent...

"2 Fowler BB1's one on either side of the site with a taut 3/4" winch wire stretched between them, full regulator in second gear would leave nothing standing above 2ft high. Show them the power of the past!"

Everyone thought it was brilliant until someone pointed out "they'd have them on the back of a truck and weighed in before you could say "'get orf my land!'"
