My first thought was "it'll be exactly the same as the 1977 one" weather-wise, it absolutely pissed it down in Watford that day.

I think that's a typically rubbish BBC/MetOffice forecast.

That says the same forecast for Sunday - 9 degrees and moderate rain. Torrential at times.

Fingers crossed for a dry day as I'll be on the Thames for what looks to be quite a spectacular Pageant.

Lizzy must have some sort of royal voodoo magic as I was also at the Royal opening of the Cutty Sark last month, it bucketed down all morning, and about 2 seconds before she turned up, the sun popped out!

Well, sorry to the anti-royals on here (and anywhere else for that matter.....) but I will be watching the whole thing on BBC1 this avvy. At the age of 75, I remember vividly the sight of the then Princess Elizabeth thrust into the limelight and with a huge forthcoming burden of responsibility, which as far as I can see she has handled extremely well. She stood and promised that she would do her best and serve the UK and, compared with some of the laziest politicians on the planet, has done just that. At her age I wonder how she does it. Hats off to Her Majesty and sod the miseries who decry her and her family.

You watched all that at the age of 75? My god! There can be only one!

I can't decide if I'm enjoying the Jubilee celebrations more because of the Jubilee itself, or the fact it annoys all the envious socialists and ignorant miserable anti-monarchy retards, who somehow think that the EU offers any more democracy than the Queen.

No one doubts the Queen has discharged her responsibility's in the most exemplary manner over the sixty years of her reign.
However it's all just a sham really. Thousands of pople out waving their made in China Union Jack flags and hats etc. The public at large it love it. They love it just so long as the Royal soap opera continues. Dashing young princes marrying beautiful bright young brides and then producing lovely little princes and princesses. Add in a few tragic moments when as older member dies and spiced up love affairs, the show will go on and on and on.

Weather better than the forecast earlier this week, just a few showers by the look of it.

I remember it well as it was my 8th birthday. I was stuck in a caravan in a sodden field near Sandringham with an Aunty & Uncle that I didn't get on well with (back then). Was a miserable birthday.
