Being in jail hardly stops the mafia? He grassed up mafia bosses. Were led to believe thats a death certificate in the movies. Maybe not. Maybe its true that everybody grasses in the end.

From what I have read he grassed up a crew, the head (Capo) being Paul Vario. He didn't grass up anyone above or outside the crew, therefore they had no reason to get him. So those from the crew who did were dead or in jail.

I assume though if he wasn't part Irish (i.e part of the Mob proper and/or a 'made man') he would have had a much greater chance of being killed?
