Undoubtedly vilified but there's no smoke without...well, smoke really.

Maybe one day we'll get the whole story - why he was hung out to dry (others did worse and came away unscathed) and why he continued to be a pariah.

Certainly our mainstream media friends have never shrunk from sticking the knife in (from both sides of the spectrum). Anyone in that position must have been doing something right...

Eh? What are you talking about? Who hung him out to dry? He took actions in the certain knowledge that they would make his position in the shadow cabinet untenable and was duly fired. He then betrayed and abandoned his own constituents 5 days before a general election and encouraged others to vote Labour in that election! The only person who hung Enoch out to dry was Enoch.
