Yes, but Australia has the capacity (landmass) to absorb people, and they only let in people they want.

Would you not want to go back to pre 2001? You would be earning more and it would be easier to pull work in . Why the fk should I care about wether polish plumbers are 'hard workers' let Poland find them work.
Do you think it is your right to earn x amount of money?

I don't mind immigration at all, what I do mind is letting the dregs/chav population of a foreign country in en masse, the well educated and cultured I'm all for but please can we leave papa and his medieval views back at home.

Yes it's great having an immigrant workforce come in and undercut your trade. I'm guessing that hasn't happened to you?
If they're able to undercut you and match the quality of work then perhaps your prices were too high to start with?

What is the problem you anti-immigration people have with my friends, colleagues and all the other immigrants that make up the UK? Is it financial, physical, psychological harm or what?
Probably fear.

Oh and judging by the OP's other enlightening posts, a healthy dose of ignorance.

Perhaps all prices are too high and we should all race to the bottom and only employ poles and buy from stuff from China?

If you are any good at your job why are you worried about the Poles ?

The unavoidable result of having a global marketplace.

Should we have forced people to buy Rovers instead of Toyotas?

One of our biggest problems is that our small island is overcrowded. In the past three weeks, I have spent two separate weeks touring around Europe, either by car or motorbike. Whilst away, I saw no traffic jams, and it was a pleasure to use the roads. As soon as I came back to our country (Portsmouth on both occasions), it was bloody carnage. On my second return, we didn't even manage to get home due to the motorways being closed because of accidents. We don't have the capacity to allow more people in. And we've got 5 million people sat at home living on benefits. Crazy. It wouldn't happen in Australia.
Yeah. Umm. That's bullst.

The percentage of people on benefits us similar. And it took me 10 minutes to travel 200m last night.

If that is the worst of your worries you are fortunate.

Ohhh the traffic was busy.

Yeah. Well, toughen up princess.

This is the main problem. When it all started (by Labour importing voters). They forgot about the strain on housing, roads (now given a conjection charge when not our fault!), hospitals, doctors etc.

Still, it was clever by Labour to class ANYONE questioning it as a racist and now a mess that will have repercussions for generations
Reaching 70 MILLION. This is from MigrationWatch:
"The UK population is now expected to hit 70 million in only 16 years. Two thirds of the increase will be due to immigration - that is 5 million or five times the present population of Birmingham."

From what I have seen you find a whole business run by the same nationals. (is there a law against this?).

Of course they are given the job 9 times out of ten because they are cheaper. Cheaper because they can live 10+ to a house sharing the bills. Therefore Mr. Average who lives with wife and small family have no chance.

This is the uk why should I have to match an eastern European labour rate. They can charge peanuts and still use all our infrastructure. Brilliant. How many immigrants employ paye staff? Not many il bet. So they DO take our jobs despite what the liberal establishment say.

Of you are in a job that is being taken over by low paid, unskilled eastern European labour, then maybe you need to ask yourself why you are in such a job in the first place? Maybe if you had tried a bit harder earlier in life you wouldn't be under such pressure? hehe

I'll just leave this here...

Yes most people are over paid, I think the more wealthy and the profesional classes will find this out when they have ruined the wider economy with short term gain like selling assets and forcing wages down with imigrant labour.. When the majoity of people dont have a living wage and a little bit left for other things like hobbys and hoidays, there will be a lot less for the folks at the top.... You need consumers and now a lot of wages (money) is going out of the country ....

Or, as this has been prevalent in society since at least the Victorian times, nothing will change.
