... I find it hilarious that McDonalds is the 'official restaurant' of the Olympics!
You can bet there will be a massive arena for Coca Cola too, another of London Olympics Worldwide Partners with McDonalds.Olympics - McDonalds - Coca Cola
All in the same breath. You couldn't make it up.

I went to the official Olympics shop in Stratford the other week to buy some keep-sakes for the kids.
Got to the till but had to leave everything there as they only accept Visa (who are sponsors) - mastercard/amex/etc not accepted.
What about cash? Or is that not allowed either?Got to the till but had to leave everything there as they only accept Visa (who are sponsors) - mastercard/amex/etc not accepted.

Now that really is just moronic, not to mention perverse if they want to raise some of that £9 billion back.Got to the till but had to leave everything there as they only accept Visa (who are sponsors) - mastercard/amex/etc not accepted.

Due to the fact Lloyds are the official sponsors.

I wonder if the same thing will apply to any non-BMW cars?http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/business-18686415

It is 2012 bonanza time for Barclays, their logos emblazoned across free-wheeling advertising space during the London Olympics.
The bikes cannot be ridden to the Olympic Park itself because another bank, Lloyds, is an official IOC sponsor who have paid serious money for the privilege.
This is the stupid all over. The bikes cannot be ridden to the Olympic Park itself because another bank, Lloyds, is an official IOC sponsor who have paid serious money for the privilege.

I suspect the lost sales by the 0.00001% of people who don't have a Visa card will be well offset by the £100m sponsorship that Visa is throwing their way.

And no-one has been sacked or disciplined for gross misconduct.
If I'd budgeted one of my projects and been that far off I'd be in a whole world of trouble. (And I'm talking of projects in the 10s - 100s of thousands not Billions!)
How about if you carefully ran all the numbers, got them signed off, then casually announcedIf I'd budgeted one of my projects and been that far off I'd be in a whole world of trouble. (And I'm talking of projects in the 10s - 100s of thousands not Billions!)

Fresh controversy erupted over the spiralling budget for the London 2012 Olympics yesterday after it was revealed that the games could face a VAT bill of more than £250m.
Tessa Jowell, the culture secretary, admitted in the Commons that London's initial budget to stage the games did not include the 17.5% cost of VAT on the construction of the venues and infrastructure.
Someone told her it wouldn't apply in a corridor apparently ffs...Tessa Jowell, the culture secretary, admitted in the Commons that London's initial budget to stage the games did not include the 17.5% cost of VAT on the construction of the venues and infrastructure.

At this rate everyone will have to pledge allegiance to the sponsors as they enter the stadium.
I'm afraid I've just sponsored allegiance pledging and as a result there will be a £7.50 fee payable only in viatnemse dong(that can be obtained comission free from my store in llanberis open between 7am and 7.53am every tuesday) to the officially branded programme seller that will be positioned under the giant McDonalds sign at the entrance to the velodrome.
I must admit the official cereal bars of the Olympic Games are quite nice tho!!

My preferred munchy bar of choice at lunchtime. Unfortunately, they've not been on offer since the olympic stuff started, so I've switched my allegiances.http://www.naturevalley.co.uk/
