No idea about this story but I am constantly surprised about the number of prosecutions recently for 'writing stuff'. Since when was 'writing the wrong thing' known to be a crime? Is this more prevalent recently?
hate crime, at the officers discretion. Bit like a S59 actually.Azhar Ahmed said:
People gassing about the deaths of soldiers!
Is this a quip at the unconditional love and support that armed forces expected to deserve?Azhar Ahmed said:
What about the innocent family's (sic) that have been brutally killed
When coupled with the above quote it seems evident that he is angry at a perceived hypocrisy. It is no mystery that British and American Forces have been involved it atrocities in recent conflicts, and Ahmed clearly appears to be stating this. His anger at "collateral damage" is further highlighted with Azhar Ahmed said:
Your enemy's were the Taliban. Not the harmful(?) family's who have been brutally killed.
All quite tame I'm sure you will agree. Go to any anti-war rally and the same thing seems to be the main course. The next part of his rant is what seems to be causing the trouble.Azhar Ahmed said:
All soldiers should die and go to hell!
Now, before anybody starts flaming, I need to say I do not condem or condone what Ahmed has said. I am merely giving my opinion of what he wrote and the true offensiveness of the said words. By this point is clear that Ahmed has a dislike to Armed Forces. It does not seem that he has shown support to the 'enemy' and so it cannot be said that he committed treason, unless the meaning has changed to say that not supporting the armed forces is treason. In that case send G4S to the Quakers.....Azhar Ahmed said:
gotta problem go cry at your soldiers grave and wish him hell because thats where he is going
Distasteful? Yes. Is it insulting? Yes. Is it actually racist? No.http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/p...

Although I won't hold my breath, as living in West Yorkshire there really is one rule for us and one slightly softer rule for anyone from of Pakistan origin.
Seriously? Are you actually being serious? Have you had so much Daily Mail nonsense spouted to you as a child that you lack the ability to think properly? What rule for "us"? The guy is being prosecuted under the Communication Act for a lame attempt at trolling, on a Facebook page amongst friends and hot girls who are added because they have a nice profile picture but turn out to be an obese man from Florida asking for pictures....(never again). It seems that the only crime which was committed was one of distaste, and unfortunately it has been blown out of proportion. Can we call ourselves a free society where the process of a rant can land you in hot water? Will this lead us to redefine the extents of freedom of speech?
And to the OP. Please dont try and twist this into an 'Us vs Muslim invader' issue where they 'GOT SPECIALS TREATMENT BECAUSE THEY WEAR A BURKA AND DAT''. The guy is being prosecuted, however I dont see it getting too far.
Regardless of anyone's opinion on if we should be in Iraq/Afghanistan or not, wishing that our servicemen and women should be killed is extremely bad taste.
The are fighting for God, Queen and Country. Even for the rights of residents of Dewsbury, which is a st hole at the best of times.
Didn't some of the nice people who blew up London come from Dewsbury.
And more recently the up standing gents who got caught with weapons and a bomb on the M1.
I bet the local community are so proud of these young men they are bringing up
Anyone condoning/wishing for violence in public should be punished accordingly. Going back to the original point; saying you want to steal things from shops on twitter gets you 2years in jail, saying you wish people dead should warrant the same should it not?

They should just fight for the country because God doesn't exist and the Queen doesn't make any decisions she's just a face for a stamp.

It's the difference between saying "I wish you were dead" to "I am going to kill you". Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
