And apparently it's not very nice.

Is it as "not nice" as chinning a toilet cleaner for being the wrong colour?

Would this "bullying" be the sort of thing that normal people would call criticism?

I guess it depends on what you call bullying? I mean, sing live FFS - is that bullying?

An online bully or troll as the tabloids wrongly call them is the latest sleb gotta-have. I'm sure that Gary Bloke is on the phone to Pixie Frou-Frou's agent as we speak demanding they trawl the web to find a suitable candidate.

You're simply nobody in 2012 without one.

I remember when these bullies used to be trolls and haters before that. They have changed.

Trolling, trolling never changes. Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the annoying power of keyboard and mouse, tears has been spilled in the name of everything, from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.

In the year 2012, after millennia of barbed discussion, the posttructive nature of man could sustain itself no longer. The world was plunged into an abyss of internet flamewars and downvoting. But it was not, as some had predicted, the end of the world. Instead, the postcalypse was simply the prologue to another bloody chapter of human history. For man had succeeded in destroying free speech - but trolling, trolling never changes.

Maybe, "they" are trying to restrict free speech on the net . . . . . negative criticism now equals thought crime

Trolling isn't negative criticism*, either. Do you work for a tabloid? biggrin

* - ok, posting a negative response can be trolling but it's only one part of trolling, is it not? I mean not all negative responses are trolling.

Waaaait a sec. You're trolling, aren't you?

That's a point. Maybe they use "Internet trolls" in a completely wrong context as they're trolling us! Bastids.

The real story here of course is that the Sun and the Daily Mail are worried that these unpaid freelance celebrity bullies are stealing their lunch.

Bullying celebrities, especially women, has long been a central plank of both these papers business. The Daily Mail in particular has specialised over the past few years in berating women for the heinous crime of visibly aging. Ironic really when you consider that Paul "utter fking worthless without whom the UK would be indubitably be a far better place to live" Dacre himself has aged badly and quite closely resembles a tortoise.

If you are refering to the incident in Guildford, that "toilet cleaner" was a mouthy piece of st who got into fights every week; I have to confess I went out with a local girl who also got into an altercation with said idiot....as did many others.

She (toilet scum) was sacked shortly afterwards for dealing drugs in the same toilet and upon arrest she punched a uniformed Police officer in the face and spat at him.

Good on you Cheryl.......
