What surprised me was just how little he was being paid by the BBC - and how he doesn't appear to have had much else on, work-wise, when he wasn't doing BBC work.
He didn't actually do much on the show though, so it's quite a lot for 2 mins on camera and a few one-liners.

Interesting article in The Telegraph.

It seems that, in real life, he was a Private Detective.

He also failed to turn up in court for his sentencing - and there is now a warrant out for his arrest.

I wonder has he legged it back to Portugal?

That article is quite old. Think he handed himself in to police shortly after the story broke.

He's a biker. All bikers get very harsh penalties for their misdemeanors. It's the law.

You guys obviously don't know him, he's actually a nice guy and he's a petrolhead
And that makes DD X 2 OK?
I had the misfortune of being near him at an airport once where he quite openly lost his temper with an elderly gentleman who was perhaps taking longer than he should to collect his baggage.

Compete and utter cock.
That's bikers for you, sensitive types!
I was referring to that tt Alastair Stewart!

No, but he's been done twice for drink driving.

Once is stupid, twice and you should loose your license for good.

The man is an idiot.

David Suchet is Poirot and his brother is John Suchet (latter respected novelist and broadcaster).

John's book "My Bonnie" is a riveting and terribly tragic true story of how is wife developed dementia.

Alastair Stewart OBE (!) has been convicted of drink driving on two occasions, despite presenting "Police Camera Action". He is a Patron of the charity Kids for Kids, helping children in Darfur, Sudan
