Yes, Iraq was sorted out years and years ago. Didn't you see George stood on his boat infront of a big 'Mission Accomplished' sign smile

To be fair, who know that Iraqis could be so incredibly, appallingly nasty to eachother when provided with a society anything other than a brutally repressive dictatorship?

Is that a man dressed as Ronald Macdonald in the background or a statue?

Either way, if he is a real person I would expect him to be killed to the point of being dead, or vandalised and desecrated if it is a statue.

Pretty much every Monday you get a load of bombs going off, its become a weekly event. Those on 23/07/12 were some of the worst they've had though, its just a co-ordinated string of attacks in several areas in the country.

Erm, most people who thought the situation through to it's natural conclusion, possibly?? Many states around the world NEED to be run by some form of hard-line regime in order to simply keep order.

That report refers to al-Qaeda being responsible for the bombings? Were they big in Iraq before it was 'liberated'?
I thought Hussein wasn't a supporter.

I disagree. I don't think anyone could possibly have known just how much these people hate eachother and the lengths they would go to. They may well have anticipated some antipathy between the varous tribes/sects etc, but what we have been seeing in Iraq goes way beyond that.

What we can agree on, I expect, is that the Iraqis have had their chance of civilisation and have not taken advantage of it, instead choosing to kill and maim as many of their countrymen who are identifiably different in some way as they possibly can.
