TNK-BP and Rosneft

BP have been battling their Oligarch partners in TNK BP almost from the getgo. Now Rosneft crops up as a possible white knight for BP. I immagine the Oligarchs want Rosneft as a partner like a hole in the head. Just see how far trying to bully Rosneft(Putin etal) would get them. My money's on Rosneft buying out the Oligarchs and becoming BP's new partner. After all this current spat was caused by BP's attempted tie up with Rosneft.

They're all thieving caravan dwellers of one kind or another; it's just surprising it's taken this long for it to come out in the wash.

I'd prefer it if BP sold and got out as I wouldn't trust any of the Russian companies (and a payment for shareholders would be nice too if they got 25 billion for their share).

Pretty short sighted really, as who else is going to bother trying to bring their expertise to bear on developing Siberian oil+gas fields? That was the idea in the first place, and having one of the biggest, ugliest O&G operators beaten up and mugged by gangsters means no-one else will go near Russia while Vlad is in control.

I read an article a few weeks ago which stated that AAR's bank has lost all Russian Govt business. Is this the Kremlin's subtle way of telling AAR that they are not flavour of the month.
