Plenty of the sweary mouth-frothy rage towards Blair on here is childish because we all know a Tory PM would've ended up the same thing and we all know you wouldn't be sat here foaming with anger if he did. Another confusing part of PH's Blair hate is the fact the genuine left also hate him, he'd be more suited to leading the Tory party than the current Tory prime minister.
I like to think Tory PMs are more straight forward than that. Like most Labour grandees, Blair would say anything to get elected, even if someone else is paying.

Because no Tory has ever been flexible with the truth to get elected.

Oh, wait. That's how this current lot got in...

Sounds remarkably like the current incumbent, what party is he in again? I ask because I'm not entirely sure he fking knows either.

If the Tories had won in 2001 - which was never going to happen - then it would've been William Hague in the position of Prime Minister when Bush came a calling. Now I like William Hague but would you really put money on us not being involved in the Iraq war if that were the case?

Blair's had to change colour many times, not least within the Labour party to get there in the first place. I do think he was smart enough to see what needed to change to get Labour elected long term and he was smart enough to see the Tories were going to lose power at some point in the 90s. He joined the Labour party on quite a left-wing platform (probably just to get in) and gradually moved it towards the centre. It got to a point where satirists joked 'New Labour' was codeword for 'Conservative' given how far they'd come from the left wing. Blair is not a socialist, he's the union's least favourite Labour leader in history and 'Old Labour' relics like Brown and Prescott always resented him. If there's one thing PH and Blair can agree on it's probably a deep dislike of Gordon Brown.

He probably had to say what plenty of them lot wanted to hear over the years also.

I fking hate B liar, sorry Blair, with a PASSION. The most corrupt, devious, dishonest, two faced, lying politician that this country has ever produced.

He lied every time he opened his slimy little mouth 'i'm a pretty straight kind of guy' was his mantra when he waltzed into No 10 all those years ago.

What he should have said was: i'm a liar, a dishonest deceitful little fker, i will screw the country into the ground & i will start an illegal war by lying through my pearly white teeth to Parliament after which i will hand over power to my useless little Scottish 'chum' so that i can fk off to leave him to take the st from the UK population.

He is a war criminal with blood on his hands who now earns upwards of £20 million per annum trading on his so called 'peace envoy' status.

Did he really say that it down to him & that evil wife of his that the games were awarded to London?

Regardless of whether or not he did he is a .

Hate him. fk off Blair you slimy little bd & get back underneath whatever stone you have crawled from under. .

Archer was bad, granted, but not as bad as Blair who lied virtually every time he opened his mouth. Archer only lied when it came to saving his own skin.....

I do take your point however.

Add in the fact when Blair lied it ended up costing rather a lot of lives and left Tony's hands dripping with blood. Not quite in the same league, is it ? Still, Tony tells us he think he has a God on his side, so all is well with his brand of bullst.

Archer got to a point where he was just beyond the pale, quite frankly.

With the seeming severe opposition to the Iraq War on here you'd think PH had been taken over by Guardian reading Liberal Democrats. Or do you not really give two fks about the war but pretend you do purely because he was a Labour prime minister?

Blair is a total and possibly a war criminal to boot, but I'm still not sure I can disagree with you which actually says more about "the current lot" than Blair.

Nah. The current lot are very much lite compared with the devil's favourite son - Blue Sq Vs Champions League. Even Archer worships TB.

All this anti-Blair stuff is very similar to comments about Thatcher over on the Guardian.

Of all the great capitalists, businessmen, graduates of the right today, are Cameron and Ossie really the best? A joke. The best are enriching themselves. No interest in politics all eyes on profits. These Tory-boy clowns are an embarrassment.

Maybe, but at least people generally knew where they stood with Marge (regardless of their view of the rights/wrongs). Something which could never be the case with John Milton Jnr.

You couldn't quite bring your self to say 'hundreds of thousands of dead people' rather than 'war'.
Your painting of Tony is with your own mighty thick gloss paint. But then I bet you believe he's a good guy at heart, sticking up for the working man and because he tells you he's big on the God thing ?

Do you have no compassion for all the people who've died as a consequence? What on earth do you look for in a politician if mass murder doesn't bother you?

I do give more than two fks actually because a very good friend of mine has just got back from a 5 month tour out in Afghan so we all, including his two young children, spent 5 months hoping he would come through it in one piece.

He did. Unlike a couple of his comrades who didn't.......

Had it been a Tory PM or a LIb - Dem PM who started an illegal war by lying through his or her teeth my hatred would have been the same or them.

I'll admit that I forgot about Archer however his lies didn't get many thousands of people killed so not on the same scale IMO.

Do you really believe the Tories wouldn't have gone to war to support the Americans?
