...Do you honestly think her "PR Person" has an earpiece, into which every camerman and screen editor is yelling "...and cutting to her Maj in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, GO!" so that said PR Person can nudge her Maj to be ready with a smile each time?
Why not? I bet Obama does.

And it's not 'every cameraman', just the director of the internationally-broadcast TV image.

Can you imagine the mischief Prince Phillip could get upto if he knew exactly when a tv camera & team were broadcasting him.

As I said above, its the editors choice - they should really have cut to her when she was looking more interested, IMO.

You're saying that the Queen, who has been brought up and thoroughly immersed in traditional values and ceremony, who is the absolute Premier of the country, who has every single person bowing and curtseying to her every need and command, would agree to wear an EARPIECE during a public engagement, so that she could take INSTRUCTION from some Director telling her when and where to smile!?

You are out of your tiny fking mind.

An earpiece is a stretch, I agree. Maybe just wave a big sign in front of her that says "You are on TV to billions of people round the world, you might consider trying to look a bit cheerful please" smile

And you are out of your tiny fkcuing mind if you think it's not perceived round the world as a negative reflection of the UK if she looks so miserable...

I think her willingness to take part in that Bond thing kind of demonstrates that she's far from dour.
Indeed.
Just watched it.
It was quite good!

Again, you expect her to sit there grinning for hours on end!?

I don't recall saying anywhere about other people's negative translation of the expression of our Queen, but don't let it stop you making up your own arguements.

I have just watched the Bond thing she was into and burst out laughing when the bond theme kicked in as the parachutes opened. Great stuff. She had a smile on her face while walking with Craig down the hall. I can imagine William and Harry must've pissed themselves laughing to see their gran giving her 'Good evening Mr Bond' as I know it put a smile on my face.

Instead of writing a letter she should have been loading a Walter PPK, Bond walks in and says "It's time maam" Then they walk off, next scene is in Westminster, you then hear two gun shots, then cut to Blair and Brown lying a in a pool of blood. Then the parachute drop escape for an alibi at the Olympic Games opening ceremony.

Silly and totally unbelievable I know, I mean Blair and Brown actually in the Houses of Parliament. As if.
