Blib said: If they armed every single person in America with concealed weapons, would that end gun related deaths? Due to the fact they blame the individual, guns don't kill people as people kill people with weapons.

And, they wouldn't be the first to open fire as they would know that everyone, including babes-in-arms was packin' Problem solved!

I can imagine how that would go down in a dark cinema, and how do the police know which shooter is the nutter and which dozen or so are just firing in self defence? American gun deaths are crazy, out of control , they have multiple mass shootings a year yet no one is talking about gun contriol.

Day after day. Many for no reason whatsoever, other than the fact that the perpetrator was carrying a gun. Such a terrible waste.

Not only the police, but the other citizens. Imagine if they didn't see the first shooter, only the response from the first protector? They could easily take them out by accident, thinking they were the aggressor. Would need good laws in place to make sure people only opened fire when they were sure.

So arming everybody could either result in a large scale mexican stand off with no casualties or a full scale civil war.

How awful. A doctor at the hospital dealing with casualties has just said that having three gunshot trauma victims in at the same time is nothing out of the ordinary for his hospital.

Well, that would have to be determined before considering it a hate crime, (not that someone on a shooting spree does not have hate as a motive somewhere) Wouldn't surprise me if the murderer thought that the poor souls were Muslims. It could be a hate crime. Sikhs were targeted in the USA after 9/11. The perpetrators mistaking them for Muslims. Reports did state the perpetrator in this case was a white male. Could also be a Temple dispute. Sikhs are renowned for fighting amongst themselves especially where control of a Temple is involved. pp

This was also my first reaction to the tragic news - some moron who cannot spot the difference between Sikhs and Muslims. (Not that gunning down random Muslims is to be condened.)
