13th said: How many people look at their Motherinlaws and think "ooooh if things don't work out with the Mrs, I'd go for a bit of that YUM" ?? Well my MiL elect is a very nice lady but certainly not certainly not someone I would consider shacking up with if it all went wrong. When granny is 40 though, well there are a heck of a lot of 40 year olds I might consider were I single. (No idea how old this one is, only that they all appear to suffer from a case of "Council House Ugly" and that the deceased never really had a chance.)

Puggit said: Daily Wail has pictures of the mother, step-father and father visiting the scene yesterday. Very sad. I wish people would stop referring to the blokes as step-father and step-grandad, which implies a formal realtionship. They're nothing of the sort, they're the women's boyfriends. Puggit said: What must be going through the mother's mind is truly incomprehensible. She's said what she's thinking - "Sorry I wasn't there for you". I must admit, until the weekend when I read a bit more, I thought they lived very near each other. Turns out the mother lives 10 miles away, yet Tia apparently spent a lot of time with her grandmother, and, as others have commented , it seems particualrly strange that she was staying there even though Gran was working nights.

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned they had bought a house and subsequently found lots of hidden areas the size of an old style TV, plus another person said that the Police having to destroy houses (more or less) to find hidden areas. Would not this (skip video forward to 1 min) kind of technology help save time and keep a better record? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahwqCl5Z9oU In other words section house virtually to find hidden areas? NB: I know it is only line of site and not some kind of X-Ray.

Wrapped in a bed sheet. .......so granny did not notice any missing bedding then.........?
I agree about all the step relations and wonder how many more of the extended feral family wil materialise and be selling their stories of anguish to the sun, daybreak, etc.

My force had a form of ultrasound some years ago. On TV news I've seen search teams removing objects like the ground radar on Time Team.

I'm wondering if there was. An established "relationship" going on between Hazell and Tia? Maybe her insistence on revealing this might have sealed her fate?

The grandmother has been released on bail (as has the neighbour) - would this indicate her charges are not solid?

More likely, at 12yo, she was more sexually aware and realised that it was wrong and threatened to tell, a family member might have even said something to Hazell but they dismissed it. He didn't. There's this common myth that peado's are manipulative and very intelligent but if they were they'd know at some point the victim will realise what's been happening is wrong and report it.

Sometimes you say things, but you wish you were wrong. I posted this back last wednesday: The Beaver King said: Sadly I will not be surprised if it turns out she has been killed and it was a member of the family.
Call me harsh and judgemental, but we've seen the same scenario time and time again.
I do sincerly hope that she turns up okay and she ran off with her boyfriend that her parents didn't like or something. If something like that had been the trigger though, you'd have thought the family would have mentioned that they'd had an argument prior to her going missing...?
It'll be interesting to see how this one ends. I do hope it ends for the better. Poor girl....

I bet he's been abusing poor Tia and she threatened to tell, still can't see how he could have got her body into the loft without leaving some sort of evidence (marks on the hatch, dirt on the carpets etc).

I suppose we should be grateful she wasn't locked inside a North Face bag with the key in it. (I know I am going to hell!) I expect that as other have said, his DNA is all over the house anyway.

You would need some help to lift a 12 years old into a loft. I tried putting a suitcase up in my loft once and nearly fell off the ladder.
