Anyway, this angle suggests that Scameron is just playing lip service to the independence issue...

Not sure if he cares or not about the Union, hard to tell.

Apologies in advance for the poor quality of the linked periodical, I don't subscribe to it. wink

You fail to see the relevance today? Then why do you hark on about events from yesteryear and comparisons with other countries?
Explain the relevance

Also i hark back to events of 2 years ago which is of more relevance then 37 years ago as to those that think that events from 300 years ago should be in the debate

Their just mental
Relevance = you and others go on about the SNP 'withholding' vital information. Yet Westminster did that very thing 37 years ago and if that report had been made public then history may have taken a very different path.

Given that we have more pandas in Scotland than Conservative MPs I doubt very much if he cares that much.

Probably just lip service. We know all about the Labour vote, etc., etc.

Here we go again

Part of the advertised upsides of an independent Scotland is a whole new breed of politicians

So because westminister did and are acting like tts gives no excuse for the SNP to act like tts

It was an interesting approach and post, thanks for that. But the fact remains that there is no quantifiable evidence for companies not investing in Scotland due to the forthcoming referendum. Apart from thinfourth2's employer.
Aye sorry for rambling, i just tried to cover my thoughts on the oil story rather than just shouting something irrelevant/stupid.
Not even TF2 is quantifiable provable, and i doubt many companies will publicly say that they're delaying investment to do so would be seen as anti-Scotland, which would do them no favours with either side. Companies such as Diego can safely say that it will make no difference- where else could they make whisky?

There are also companies that have come out and said that it is NOT having any influence on their investment.
Well they probably believe in polls

Where as my company is playing it safe
Did you have any involvement in their decision? Be honest...?
I'm pushing as hard as i can to get us making as much as posible as we make all our subsea forgings in England so there is no reason to ship it across the atlantic for final machining and assembly

It would save the company money and make our branch more secure and get me more bonus

Oh, ok, well I'm not in your industry so don't fully appreciate the detail there.

I got distracted and should have said: not even TF2s companys decision is quantifible/provable since we have to take his word for it until theres an announcement, which i doubt there will be.
But i guess you worked that out wink

So you belive that westminister being self intrested lying tts means that we should have self intrested lying tts north of the border

An unusual view point and one I disagree with

If Scotland is to be this new brave modern nation then the SNP should be whiter then white. Start as you mean to go on. Which in the case of the SNP is lying and troughing

I've explained the internal tory view before - long term losing 5m socialist voters is a good thing, short term, no leader of any political party wants to preside over the separation of Scotland from the union.

It's not really lip service, it's just not that important in the grand scale of things and unlike Scotland which needs to take a huge leap of faith, the rest of the UK remains in pretty much the same place with or without Scotland.

Well appreciate that the UK is one of the best nations on earth for engineering both sides of the border.

If you go to the biggest shipyard in Singapore they have a HUGE press with built in Glasgow 1963.

If it wasn't for your hated union it wouldn't be there

There certainly is NOT the consensus from companies that they consider the upcoming referendum a reason not to invest!
Nobody said there was a 'consensus'? Indepence debate = uncertainty. Uncertainty = risk = bad = relatively lower investment.

Short.

Sweet.

Okay I was obviously joking. That is interesting.
I thought I saw a report on the BBC that the referendum was harming Scotlands economy/investment. I'll have a look later though may have imagined it.
There are also companies that have come out and said that it is NOT having any influence on their investment.
And others have said it is

Of course this is the guardian which is in the pocket of the evil tories so will be ignored

Yeah but it's OK, because it's not EVERY company that isn't investing in Scotland. It's only a few of them. Which doesn't matter as much.
