Powell is one of the few characters from the Bush administration that is genuinely respected by pretty much everyone.
If you say so. He's certainly better at hiding his dirty laundry (My Lai, Iran-Contra, Iraq).

Strong line in debate you have there, try the Oxford Union.
OT but, seriously, what is the story with the brackets? It just seems weird smile

Quite good, IMO
Outstanding. And a big part of why so many people are driven away from Obama. When you're running for what's arguably the most important job in the world, shouldn't you focus on major issues instead of nonsense?

I'm sat in NYC at the moment, and the news is full of Hurricane Sandy. The current predictions show it belting the DC area hard early next week. Virginia looks to be a swing state due to the difference between north and south, and if Sandy does as much damage as people think it might we could see so much disruption in the north of the state that it could tip it in the GOP's favour.

Ah yes Mr O is now resorting to using invective in his stump speeches I see, this would be like the Queen swearing when opening a hospital ward or some such,
Great example for a head of state to set for kids around the world.

It is seemingly part of the democratic argument nowadays <as evidenced on this very thread>
The Queen has class in abundance. BHO is a Chicago snake-oil salesmanwho wouldn't know how to act in a manner befitting to the office of POTUS even if he was to in the office for 100 years, never mind just 4.

Republicans in various states, especially those that have tried and failed to get opressive voter id laws passed, are getting upset at the thought of monitors from the european OSCE overseeing polling to ensure fair play.

Meanwhile a shadowy group of thugs from the tea party who operate a group called True The Vote plan to be at polls in poor areas intimidating and harrassing poor and ethnic voters into not voting. Disgusting behaviour but par for the course from the GOP in this election.

Sheldon's in for another $10 million.

He's desperate for that $2.3 billion windfall that he expects to get from a Romney government.

Who says you can't buy an election!

I need an ID to get on an airplane, to cash a check, to enter many federal parks/buildings... and yet I can vote without showing ID? Come on, what's the problem with showing ID to vote? Who the hell DOESN'T have photo ID these days?

Is there an MBA in hypocrisy then, that Democrats have studied for?

"After several months of lagging Obama in fundraising, Romney, the Republican National Committee and allied state parties overtook their Democratic rivals in October with $111.8 million raised from Oct. 1 to 17, his campaign said, a period that included two of the three televised presidential debates.

Obama's campaign raised $90.5 million for itself and Democratic Party allies during that period, becoming the first in history to raise a total of more than $1 billion for an election effort together with his party.

Romney and the RNC were close behind, taking in a total of $919.4 million throughout the 2012 campaign so far."

A pox on you both, you are both attempting to buy victory, at least the Republicans dont seem to be claiming some bullst high ground, claiming the Dems are trying to buy the election!
You don't think there's a difference between somebody donation $20 and somebody donating $20m with regards to "buying" influence?

You think Obama raised over $1 billion through $20 a time donations?

Poor people mainly. And poor black people to be more specific. Poor people don't get on airplanes or drive cars you see. So they don't have federally issued photo id.

There are big billboards up in states where voter ID laws have been struck down by the courts warning people not to go to the polls without photo id! People who are registered are getting letters telling them they are not. If that sort of thing were happening in say... Zimbabwe we'd all be yelling voter fraud at the top of our voices! Well plenty of people are yelling that because it's exactly what it is. And now the tea party wackos are sending storm troopers from True The Vote to the polls to further intimidate poor and ethnic voters in an attempt to stop them voting. It's a fking disgrace and I can't see how anyone can defend it.

Who was the last person to pitch $100 million into a capaign who wasn't actually running?

Nobody does that without serious personal motivation and it's very unhealthy because they expect payback.

You need a photo I.D. for welfare or to cash an unemployment check.
That includes white people

The reasons for having or not having ID are irrelevant. The fact is 3 times as many black people don't have ID when compared to white people.
