I'm sorry, I know it's wrong and I'm not giving this matter due deference, but I had to laugh at "he also abused my cat. He's an animal abuser as well."
I'm tending towards the "she's a psycho bunny boiler" opinion.
I've just had a look at her Facebook page and that was my first thought. I'm tending towards the "she's a psycho bunny boiler" opinion.
This smells very fishy to me. The jury had one person let go after several hours and then the judge allowed a majority verdict. So we can assume that not all of those who heard all the facts were convinced of his guilt.
The sentance also seems to be very light if the judge believed his guilt or the seriousness of the claim. They both seem to have issues to deal with but to be honset she came across in reports as a right basket case, which if he had any brains he would have run away from at high speed at the first signs.

Agreed. The bloke was obviously just thinking with his cock (which we've all been guilty of) only he happened to do it with an alcoholic mental bird and it's backfired. The sentance also seems to be very light if the judge believed his guilt or the seriousness of the claim. He was found guilty which indicates that at least some of the complainant's allegations were taken seriously. His defence that she is an alcoholic/mentally ill was pretty predictable and neither accusation precludes her from being credible as a victim.
It is interesting, however, in light of the recent news that controlling and emotionally abusive partners will face prosecution under the current domestic violence laws.

Just out of curiosity, how does Collins come across as any less of a mental case than Larke in the reports? Assuming you've read the same news reports that I have, he was accused of being a controlling bully etc etc and she was accused of being a mentally ill liar etc etc. I'm interested to know which news report somehow made her seem more mentally ill than Collins.

The fact that a previous relationship she had was a similar disastar, but from his side no one had a bad word to say that was not related to her. I did say he had issues which is clear but not having heard all the evidence like the jury did then I may be incorrect.I'm interested to know which news report somehow made her seem more mentally ill than Collins.
My point was one juror was discharged and it was not a unanimouse decision so at least some who heard the full facts was not convinced of his guilt the very leniant sentence is strange, which in my mind might suggest the judge had his own view on the decision.
Without the recording of him going off on one, I suspect he would have been found not guilty but that one bit was pretty shocking.
