He will get about 90 years in a supermax without parole, in the UK he would get 4 life sentences and have to serve a minimum of 8 years

you work it out

Plus the chance to indoctrinate the ever increasing muslim prison population. He will no doubt be in solitary in the USA.

Good riddance to the worthless piece of st.

To celebrate I'm going to have a large whiskey, and cure my hangover with extra bacon tomorrow.

Had I read this on my way past Finsbury park just now I'd have gone to celebrate at the mosque!!

It all stems from the idea that the mental health services have no objective means of assessing madness. Phobia, delusion, hallucination, persecutory ideation are all subjective. Although the Courts want a answer to the question of 'Mad or Bad', and on the face of it that is a very sensible request. I suggest its almost impossible to give with any certainty. This is even more acute when the patient has something to gain or lose.

Suppose they'll confiscate his hook now. Poor sod won't be able to pick his nose.

How's he going to get his arse wiped, by the way?

I suspect there's an awful lot more to the story than we'll ever be allowed to know. Hear the guy speak and he's far from the frothing-mouthed fundamentalist the media would have one believe.

Apparently his defence attorneys tried to raise evidence that he'd been 'recruited by MI5 to preach moderation' yet this evidence was ruled inadmissible and the court wasn't allowed to see the documents.

One wonders why. scratchchin

Likewise, why was he extradited to the US?

Perhaps because the CPS would have thrown out the charges against him on the basis of no evidence.

We are the 51st state of the US of A, after all.

This is the land, where nothing changes
The land of red buses and blue blooded babies
The ammunition's being passed (This is the 51st state), and the lord's been praised
But the wars on the televisions will never be explained
All the bankers getting' sweaty (This is the 51st state) beneath their white collars
As the pound in our pocket turns into a dollar
This is the 51st state of the U.S.A.
This is the 51st state of the U.S.A.

At least one of the offences was directly related to USA (running a terror camp in Oregon), and another involved the kidnap of Americans in Yemen. So I don't have any problem with him being tried in USA for this.

I can only assume what Hamza was saying in court in USA was a desperate attempt to avoid being locked up for life.

I'm not going to lose any sleep over him being stuck in a supermax prison in USA...

Makes for a refreshing change to see a Western legal system work for us instead of against us. Shame we didn't have the balls/inclination to jail him in the UK.

This way he gets locked up and I don't have to pay. Win, win.
