Similar question, are you in SW London as my daughter's secondary school has emailed me 3 times in the past school year alone about girls having to run away from a man in white van who was trying to entice them in.

By God! If I were to see this I would be in prison for a long time mad Fekin' dirt!!
No, this was north London - park/playground at Albert Park Road. Story - very believable and well spread now suggests these two creeps actually had the child by the hand.

Horrendous news. It really does make me feel ill.

They are still searching this small bit of the Dyfi downstream from the bridge frownI think she'd be further down and actually in the sea, that river is tidal and has fast currents on a hot mid-summer's day, let alone in the conditions they have now frown
Unless there's something to hook up on or an eddy, easily out to sea. I can remember taking the dogs up to Aberdovey one winter and there were huge tree stumps that had washed downstream on the banks of the estuary.
yes Me too frown My only prayer now is that she was dead when she went into the water.

I spent a lot of my teenage summers about 5 miles from there, towards Barmouth, as I said earlier, I nearly got into trouble on the Dyfi and I was a strong swimmer then.

I think that's why they have the sonar boat, hope that she is caught in debris and not swept quickly out to sea. I want her parents to be able to have an end now.

If the ghouls want a spectacle they can just read the appalling Madeleine McCann thread right here on PH which I summarise as "she can't be found so the parents are guilty". Yeah right.
Without wanting to take this off topic, I must say that statement is nonsense.
Agree with the above - there are a lot of *opinions* on the McCann thread - but also lots of unanswered questions as to the parents' behaviour on the night and those of the people they were with ...

Its tragic of course and if someone has murdered her then they should be quickly gassed

But, we should be thankful that we live in a country where this generates the response that it has. Imagine, for a moment, Syria / Afghanistan / similar. This would probably not even make the news

A Nigerian chap on Twitter has been musing on exactly that. They'd probably just send a few emails......

Now he's been arrested on suspicion of murder, not 'just' child abduction, perhaps there are new opportunities to explore. Though what they might be only the police know. However, not good for the family. The charge says it all.

I'm glad we live in a country where a child's life is hugely valued. I can't fathom how some third world countries just accept such things.

So the whole releasing the suspects name and picture and car etc meant that they knew they had their man but they needed the public's help in tracing his movements to see where he'd hid the body. Horrible stuff, can't imagine what the family are going through

How does it take people 4 days to tell the police such things? Incredible.

On the Welsh news last night the chief police chappie said they had 2500 calls to sift through, maybe this was one?

You also get the weirdos calling with fake information.

The Police will have had to sift/investigate every piece of information as a potential line of enquiry to follow.

I can't even begin to imagine the horror and distress that the parents must be going through at this time

- and if the poor little girl really is dead, I shudder to think what she may have gone through.

How can any person do such a thing to an innocent child.

It's been in the Daily Mail all day... Surprised Sky have only just picked up on it. I'd assumed it was yesterday's news (which I missed most of)
