Countdown said: Well I think she's bang tidy i've just witnessed her interview for sky with the volunteers searching for that little girl. that's some of the most disgusting ambulance chasing journalism i've seen for a while. hiding behind what borders on a sociopathic lack of compassion by masquerading as a serious and objective journalist just isn't going to cut it this time. what an awful, awful report by what i suspect to be a deeply unpleasant and self serving c**t.

Have any of you actually watched the full footage? One of the "volunteers" is the Godmother, who had already been told, and the other is a volunteer who asked what the current news was, live on air.
I'm no fan of Ms Burley, but it's important to view the clip in it's entirety.

Mermaid said: However you slice & dice it, she was rather insensitive. Completely agree, which I said when I put up the full clip. However, the clip doing the rounds makes it look even worse than insensitive. If you ask a broadcasting news crew such a question, you put yourself in the firing line, to a degree, especially if it's Kay Burley you ask the question of!

Someone mentioned Drop the Dead Donkey earlier in the thread and got it spot on in my opinion. Burley is Sally Smedley.

http://blogs.metro.co.uk/news/kay-burley-lot-answe...Sky have issued a statement, apparently: some mouthpiece for the dirty digger said: At around 10.30 today, Dyfed Powys Police announced that the search for April was now a murder inquiry. Several minutes later, Kay Burley spoke live to a volunteer believing she was aware of the latest developments. As she spoke she was joined by a second volunteer.
It is clear from the full clip that Kay did not start the interview with the intention of breaking the sad development to them.
However, as the interview unfolded, she found herself having to explain the developments and she sought to deal with it as sensitively as possible whilst continuing to offer some comfort to the interviewees.
Everyone at Sky News has the greatest sympathy for all those affected by this tragic story and we will continue work with the police and local community to keep people informed Translation: we don't think we were in the wrong, and anyway, Kay Burley knows where Rupert's skeleton's are buried so we won't get rid of her just yet. I don't think the evil empire really knows what "sensitively" actually means.

She is the victim of rolling news, having to fill space, but worth noting what Armando Iannucci had to say about the erstwhile Ms Burley: "Being interviewed by Kay is, as we all know, like being interviewed by a backward child. That's obviously great most of the time. But occasionally she will throw you a curveball like a child might: 'Why is there war?' 'What is Europe?' – and if you can't answer it's you who ends up looking like the thick-as-pigs t chancer." All those BBC haters take note, this is Sky News at its best.

She absolutely did start the interview, I watched it live. She grabbed the brown haired lady and said can we talk to you then proceeded to tell her the news, then while she was digesting it she moved on to the blonde lady. All the while asking what is your reaction hoping to get screams on TV. The youtube videos start after she was a dick to the brown haired lady. f king vile witch.

We know Burley's useless but she's goIng round the office and we do t want to fire her before we've all had a go.

society pages said: Burley’s tactics make her appear bullying and clearly not impartial. She also has very flawed logic, but the facts and being knowledgeable aren’t her strong suit as she mistook Joe Biden’s Ash Wednesday ashes on his forehead for a bruise. She later apologized. So, Kay appears to be opinionated, a loudmouth, and not too bright—I think she’s angling for a career in American cable infotainment.
Burley is being obtuse on purpose in order to make her point. The protests are about the “first-past-the-post” or winner-take-all method of tabulating seats in Parliament, which has resulted in the current hung Parliament. Kay doesn’t see any point in that as it a fait accompli and that the current party negotiations are democracy in action. She asserts that the people chose a hung Parliament, while the protesters are complaining that the hung Parliament is a product of a “broken” system.
Given social media, the news of this spread virally and the video footage of her exchange was put on YouTube {above}. Adding fuel to the fire, hecklers are interrupting her interviews with chants of “sack Kay Burley, watch the BBC” and this is now making the rounds on YouTube, as part of the “sack Kay Burley” meme.
Ah, a facepalm moment, UK-style. http://www.thesocietypages.org uhuh.
