My reasons for voting UKIP are that I support the majority of their policies, good enough for you?

Does anyone support all the polices of a party? I support some aspects of UKIP but they're still a single issue party for me.

The problem with single issue parties is that away from the main event they have some really nutty stuff. For instance Farage is a smoker so it is official UKIP policy to bring back smoking in pubs. Even though he doesn't say how the bar staff who would be poisoned by this should be compensated.

Me too!! and today my blood pressure is lower remembering I voted for them at the GE and not Blue labour, mosty good poilcys and some very bright people lord Monkton, Farage, Paul Nutall and others.. personaly I would prefer a labour gov to what we have, it's just so depessing when the party you have always supported is populated by total wkers and the ones with any common sense are kept quiet incase they upset the LIBDUMS...

I really really really fking hate this argument.
me too but there is some truth to it. slightly deranged of me i know but i ran the numbers for every consituency, had 50% of ukip voters voted tory (uniform swing), they would have had enough seats for a dup coalition, 93% would have given them outright majority. infact twice as many people voted for ukip as snp who got 6 seats and 6 times more than sdlp, pc, dup and sf combined who got 19 seats! the system is most definately broken. somehow the lib/lab/con coalition of incompetence have convinced people that ukip are a bunch of swivel eyed racists with too much hair to be in the bnp, yet time after time put a lib/lab/con idiot in a studio with the ukip rep and they are left frothing at the mouth whilst arrogantly denouncing the views of at least a million voters. voting ukip IS a waste of time, they arn't going to win a seat, but you know i think i might do anyway because wiping my arse with the ballot paper is probably an offense.
The evidence is in front of our eyes, vote UKIP = get coalition. UKIP make a hell of a lot of sense, but many of their views go against the brainwashing attempts by the left and others of influence, particularly with regards to the biggest con of all - CO2 and climate change. That for sure won't get aired on the main news channels.

UKIP, like many other fringe parties, have a manifesto and policies written by people who know they have zero chance of ever being held accountable to deliver on it. Even if you agree with it all on paper, funding for all these policies is solely based on us leaving the EU with no financial consequences or repercussions.

You cant walk out of a Contract and not expect to have to pay compensation of some form and I doubt leaving the EU would be any different.

Furhter more, I personally think leaving the EU is fundamentally flawed.

Anyway, here's what they "stand for":

Surely it is possible that this time around, with their views on the EU being more acceptable and possible more closely aligned to the Cons that they would form an agreement with the Cons?

It doesn't really matter if some of their policy ideas are a bit off the wall, they're not going to form a government anyway. Labour are. It's just whether you waste your vote giving it to a lame duck Conservative party with no real policies or ideas anyway, or to UKIP whose ideology and direction is quite clear and distinctly conservative. I will vote UKIP for the message it sends to the Tories, who at the constituency level would love to do a deal with UKIP, but at the leadership level will not because for all their posturing and flag waving they are totally committed to being in the EU at any cost.

Another UKIP voter here!

I get annoyed by people that say they're not going to vote for them because it would be a wasted vote - if all the people that say that did voted for them it wouldn't be a wasted vote.

I'm no expert but I've had a quick read of their energy policy and think it makes sense.

I've got to hand it to NuLabour, they did their job well.
It's a thing called "freedom of choice", people died for it, I guess they were "nutty" too.

Why are you embarassed by it? Quite interesting attitude this, and I have my own ideas about why you might feel that way, but would be interested to hear your reasoning (if any?) first?

And you base this on what?

As hearing what they have to say on immigration is driven you anything but racism

They merely state why can we only limit those coming into the UK from outside the EU. They merely want to be able to choose who comes into the country no matter where they come from.

But carry on with the insults it merely shows you are losing the debate

You are absolutely wasting your vote in a General Election, until we have a form of PR.

You are absolutely not wasting your vote in EU Parliamentary elections as we have a form of PR in that, and UKIP (and other minority parties) win the representation their vote deserves. Funny how PR is good enough for European elections, but not UK Parliamentary ones. It will always remain so due to the vested interest in the status quo which the Tory and Labour parties have. Turkeys, Christmas.

Minority parties can not become influential parties in the UK under FPTP. In a recent referendum, I'm afraid to say that the majority vote was in favour of the status quo, if I remember correctly, so if we lament the current situation in this regard, we have only ourselves to blame. We had the chance to initiate electoral reform, and blew it. Meanwhile, the Tories continue to block electoral/constitutional reform.

Well done, everyone. Not.
