Each main party contends that it aims for the UK to be prosperous, peaceful and well governed, but neither is so closely associated with one big idea as a party like UKIP is.
Not going well for any of them, is it?Epic fail by all concerned IMHO.
We are broke and in debt
We are involved with a war in two countries, possibly illegally
Well governed? Gimme a break!
Afghanistan

I have to wonder BV, why are you so concerned about UKIP? if they are such a bunch of no hopers they shouldn't pose any threat to you
I am not at all concerned about UKIP. I regard them as a minor factor in national politics. I suggest that a vote for them is likely to be wasted. Breadvan72 said:

I suggest a vote for Tory/Labour is wasted, its like Turkeys for voting for Christmas
Indeed. And continuously voting the same parties who simply seek to contest the middle ground means nothing gets done in the country of worth.
We need fresh blood. And as Thinforth says above, it might take a bloody nose for the Tories to finally sit up and take heed of what they need to do to remain in power.

I am not bothered if people vote for them, and if they split the Tory vote I might perhaps even think that a good thing (my present stance being anti Tory but not really pro Labour), but there is no harm in expressing the opinion that UKIP are not an attractive party.
Absolutely not, but to persist in telling everyone over and over for a period of days suggests it does bother you Eharding and Breadvan come across as extremely unpleasant individuals here.
I am a UKIP voter, please don't try to suppose that I am far-right or a racist. I'm perfectly capable of defining myself by my beliefs and actions rather than by the party who shares the most (but not majority) of my political views.
Hope I spelled everything right there, wouldn't want to discredit my argument with an incorrectly placed apostrophe or something

I have no issues with the rest of Europe or foreigners. I just object to paying huge membership fees to be in a club that does nothing for us in return that couldn't be achieved anyway.

Have those who are saying that UKIP are a single policy party, actually read their manifesto?
I suspect not.
I have, and I agree with a fair bit, although their flat tax rate is way too high.I suspect not.
That misses the point though. Most voters in this country have never read any party manifesto in their lives. People don't vote on manifestos. They vote on perception, and UKIP are -and, I believe always will be as long as Farage is around - perceived by the electorate in general as a single policy sideshow.
