I heard there only 100 adult pigs left in the UK
I believe you are mixing up a story that there was just 100 adult cod left in the north sea.

TBH, what would be damning is if pork pies keep rolling off the production lines unaffected.

I already have 'theories' about pork scratchings after finding a piece that I reckon had a fragment of a Wolves tattoo (the Black Country being the heart of scratching production).

Most of the scratchings I;ve ever bought are from Wolvo'/Bilston/Wednesbury/Tipton. Didn't know Packington pork did them.

ETA from Wikki: According to Men's Health, a 1 ounce (28 g) serving contains nine times the protein and less fat than is found in a serving of potato chips, which are much higher in carbohydrates. They add that 43 percent of pork rind's fat is unsaturated, and most of that is oleic acid, the same healthy fat found in olive oil. Another 13 percent of its fat content is stearic acid, a type of saturated fat that is considered harmless because it does not raise cholesterol levels. thumbup

If this was the 'Classics from the mrs' thread I can imagine the response to that: "Bullst - no way could you get a pig to sit still in a tatooists chair!"

hehe

Clearly a conspiracy going on. Pork scratchings are revealed as a health food at the same time as a shortage which will cause the price to skyrocket. I am thinking of researching "The Pork Scratching Diet" while I still can and clean up next year by slowly releasing hoarded stocks.
