Yes, what a joke. They must be fearing that it may collapse soon so, are using every bit of propaganda to try and turn it around. Is there any country where the people are majorly in favour of the EU?

Does seem a bit odd. I'd have given it to Bill Gates.

Not even remotely "in kind" really is it? 1/10 on the Trollometer, must try harder.

Which bit of the words used by OP "unaccountable, undemocratic, useless" did you fail to understand?

And the armband nicely compliments the OPs use of the word "Stalinist", don't you think?

Not really surprising, they seem to be more a prize in left wingery than anything else.

You suggesting the EU is not Stalinist but Nazi is rational?

I think the Nobel Peace prize lost it's credibility when they gave one to Obama before he's had chance to do anything in office, even he was embarrassed by it.

However, playing Devil's Advocate, it's a matter of public record that the European project was in part conceived it order to ensure no more wars in Europe on the scale of WWII and in that respect it could be considered a success, even if in most other respects it's an abject failure (at least for the Europeans that aren't in some way on board the gravy train itself).

Because you're comparing one individual with an entire establishment.

As for the pointlessness of the Nobel prizes, IMHO it lost any credibility when they gave one to man-bear-pig.

Yup. It may cost billions, but by giving politicians a big juicy carrot it has, at least, prevented anything like the bloodbaths of before.

He has an odd look about him which suggests that a "Jim'll Fix It" badge might be more appropriate.

I'm not sure about the timing of this Peace prize - given the continuing riots in Greece and Spain.

No war so far, the way things are going in Greece and Spain I wouldn't best confident of what the EU has achieved in terms of peace.
