Seems like good advice to me to provide Social Networking with some false info...

Ummm, actually I'd slightly favour Facebook over the government with my data. At least Facebook openly admits to selling it on...
what a total load of crap, the government do not sell your data...........they just lose it.....a lot KrazyIvan said:

I actually back Labour on this one. Just because you are on the internet doesn't give you the right to behave like a cockwhisk! Telling everyone to use a fake name will encourage that sort of behavior as you cannot be held accountable to who you are!
Sure dont hand over your address, bank details etc but this is common sense and social media has no requirement for that kind of information!

What's the point in signing up to facebook with the wrong name?
To experience what it'd be like to be a popular person?Or, if like a friend of mine, facebook suddenly decides you are a bot and ban you until you give them a copy of your passport. This dispite having only normal activity on the site and being linked to other non banned accounts as brother/husband/son etc etc, prompting you to start a new account using a name like "Power Dude".

The word 'Admit' isn't one that features in the Government's dictionary.

There appear to be only 3 Dan Colletts in Buckinghamshire. Wouldn't take long to narrow down which one you are, and from there work out your address and various other information. People leave big trails without realising it...Sure dont hand over your address, bank details etc but this is common sense and social media has no requirement for that kind of information!

Certain irony to posting that comment on a forum under the name "geeks", no? I'm guessing that's not your real name? The Black Flash said:

Hah bloody hah.
I'm strangely reminded of a UK government website (seriously can't be bothered finding it, sorry ) concerning ID Cards - where the starting point is (was) one username and one [different] password for all websites, in their propoganda... The username and password would be as per one's ID Card! Hah bloody hah.
I'll meet your "hah bloody hah" and cue cynical hollow laughter .
