Glitter is a low hanging fruit.
Shows just what rubbish this whole fiasco is if that's the best they can come up with. Imagine you're Glitter's lawyer,- Savile has been tried, found guilty and executed by the the press
- Glitter has already served time for child sex offences
Well actually you don't need to bother. The judge will surely dismiss any charges with the chance of a "fair trial" at zero.

done time already?? as has glitter but was it abroad????
Yes, Glitter's sigificant convictions were in the far east IIRC. Potential death penalty but served some months in prison and paid financial compensation. In UK a former under-age girlfriend accused him of child sex offences but the case fell apart when it turned out she was just after money - having sold her story to the press. He's just the first surely?
Caught with child porn in 1997, deported from Cambodia because he was abusing children in the early noughties, then in Vietnam numerous children, some as young as 11, claim he abused them. He paid off the victims families and received a short sentence before being deported.
And now this:

Gary Glitter broke down in tears as he explained to jurors why he had been in possession of child abuse images.
Sobbing uncontrollably, the 70-year-old said he had been in a bad place in his life, and was struggling financially, with alcohol and with drugs.
He issued a tearful apology to his fans, saying: "I lost my own dignity, and I am so sorry. I am very sorry."
