Looks like the BBC has decided to play by new rules. Newsnight is currently pushing a report past it's legal team hoping to name a "Senior political figure" tonight. That could be a well watched show.....

is that a current one or one from about 30 years ago. There have long been rumors that Thatcher stopped an investigation into a paedo in her government.

I also vaguely recall allegations of some kind of ring in government in the 70s'

Is it to do with this?

http://piereport-news.com/tom-watson-asks-about-pa...

Tom Watson MP asked during Prime Minister Questions

“The evidence file used to convict paedophile Peter Righton, if it still exists, contains clear intelligence of a widespread paedophile ring. One of its members boasts of its links to a senior aide of a former Prime minister who says he could smuggle indecent images of children from abroad.”

“The leads were not followed up but if the file still exists, I want to ensure that the Metropolitan Police secure the evidence, re-examine it, and investigate clear intelligence suggesting a powerful paedophile network linked to Parliament and Number 10.”

This question is now out in the open, it needs to be addressed.

It has been alleged that Jimmy Savile was used as a pimp to supply under aged children, both boys and girls to a high level paedophile ring, containing members from the very top of society, including: royalty, politics, justice system, police.

Now is the time to uncover the truth about this vile group of predatory people, who no doubt protect their own. Perhaps it answers the question as to why Savile got away with it and was untouchable.

Neat diversion all the same.

"Look over there, a monkey paedo who's not at the BBC"

How about the BBC outing the various names still allegedly working at the BBC.

Why would any news organisation "out" anyone? More trial by media?

Surely if they have any evidence it should be handed over to the authorities. If/When they are charged then they should report on it.

No diversionary benefit from a quiet handover.

I suspect the BBC were always "careful" to make absolutely sure they had whoever it was bang to rights. With Politicians and other media sources putting the boot in however I believe the Gloves are off and the hob nails are on.

Sounds like a PR gimmick. The Beeb know that the lawyers won't let them air these kind of allegations yet after the Savile mess they got themselves in they can now say 'look we're against pedos just like anyone else, we would have exposed this politician had it not been for the legalities'.

There will be no such 'outing' imo.

Could be a great platform for cleaning house, media and parliament.
To what and whose benefit is anyone's guess.

Just on this area of discussion for a moment. While the wider media and PH have been enjoying a couple of weeks of endless BBC bashing around how terrible it was they didn't screen a ten minute Newsnight investigation into alleged activities by Jimmy Savile that very same wider media had better take a damn hard look at itself and ask why it refused to report these stories that they now claim to have been open secrets - and had been handed to their own newsdesks many times over the years.

I don't see any harm at all in the BBC being criticised for the Newsnight affair (although it really has been whipped into one hell of a scandal, hasn't it?) while simultaneously reporting other similar illegal activities. God knows the BBC has spent shedloads of time criticising itself over the issue.
