I think "because Muslim" is a vast over simplification. The misogyny and segregation of sexes hasn't helped, but this is a perfect storm (for want of a better description) of vulnerable girls coming into contact with men who would exploit them in a situation that was ignored by people who could and should have stopped it.

There seems to be a group of men from many backgrounds who have learnt that vulnerable girls can be cheaply bought for sex, and this has been ignored for years by the authorities. Some of these men (ie the gangs that we are talking about here - seemingly mostly taxi drivers of Pakistani heritage) are part of a group that work together and have a similar background who have taken this further and rather than being "users" have progressed to trafficking and hence serious physical as well as sexual abuse. Even the paedophile element is, I suspect, merely a product of availability - the girls who were most vulnerable are underage.

This is not "normal" behaviour for Muslims, or even taxi drivers, this has become normalised in a relatively small subsection because it has gone unchallenged.

This is why you get denial from the wider Muslim and even Pakistani community when you try to use this as a stick to beat them with - they don't see it as their problem, not least because they don't identify with a bunch of drink and drug using paedophiles.
Interesting piece from Vice a few days ago which suggests it's far more widespread and organised than that.

It seems the leaders of the activity, in Rotherham at least, ranged from those who owned local businesses to heroin dealers.

The girls talk about routinely being taken to houses with 20 Asian men waiting for them. It seems the cases which are reported are only where those who organise the activity have been caught, not those who partake of it.

Considering that the figures for Rotherham alone are 1400 girls abused in this way I find it incomprehensible that the wider community have not been fully aware of this.

To be fair, whilst that may be the case in certain communities, i also think there are others where perpetrators are maverick - outsider's , careful to keep their activities quiet.

For me, the overriding cause it attitudes to women. It is beyond dispute that many of those involved have immigrated from parts of the world where women are viewed as a sub-species and "equality" is literally an alien concept. Independence, education, sexual freedom, work are all restricted or denied.

It'd be interesting to put 'racial equality' aside as an issue until we've completely solved 'gender equality'.

Seal all the entry doors for the next 5 years ( allow max 10k people in perhaps, points based). Recover, and then review based on our resources.

We can't decide, its Europe's call I think, I would include commit a crime or failure to find work as a reason for expulsion

Another day another abuse gang, although this time with a twist, The Police are trying to keep their identities secret "for fear of reprisals..."

More like, to prevent West Mid police having even more negative publicity from failing to protect children.

From the Telegraph

The three men were part of a 10-strong gang which groomed vulnerable teenage girls for sex - and whose identities the police attempted to keep hidden.

Mr Justice Keehan, in the High Court, said he was "extremely surprised" at the secretive stance taken by West Midlands Police, which claimed the men could face retaliation if they were named.

The force is still refusing to formally release photographs of the gang despite the judge’s forceful comments about the way officers had approached the case.

Civil orders have been made against the 10 – who can now finally be named as Mohammed Anjam, Omar Ahmed, Naseem Khan, Mohammed Javed, Shah Alam, Sajid Hussain, Rahman Aziz, Imran Uddin, Mansur Ahmed and Sarfraz Riaz – in a bid to curtail their sexual grooming activities.

Detective Chief Superintendent Danny Long, head of West Midlands Police's public protection unit, said the men's details would be "shared in the right places with the right people".
"We are duty bound to act proportionately to the threat the men currently pose to the girl and possibly others," he said.
"We also have a duty to consider the impact of releasing the men's images on innocent family members, which include their partners and their own young children."

So, should a chap be caught kerb crawling, Police are usually very happy to write a letter home, or name and shame. But not so much in this case... I wonder what the difference is.

Of course you are right. I said it, how many are thinking it.

CMD would get elected if he did it.
