No. I meant 'Asian', as that's what it said in the article I was reading.

If it said 'Pakistani' then that's what I'd have posted. No danger of me being too PC.

Where does this grooming of school kids in Brum fit with Theresa May's Spin Doctor and Michael Gove bickering about faith schools or OFSTED checks in Brum or whatever it was?

It's good to see that Gove will be meddling with the Freedom of Information Act so the press can't get hold of inconvenient truths like this.

And I think they mentioned 4 Councillors on the BBC News.

BBC Radio 4 Midnight News called them Pakistani.

Said four being investigated are current or former Councillors.

Why do the media refer to them as 'asian'? Are they afraid to mention religion or religious back ground?

FWIW, I do actually think that is decreasing.

I fund it repugnant. I, as I'm sure a great many of us here too, have a lot of friends and colleagues who could be implicated by the clumsy "Asian" tag and who are from backgrounds that statistically have little to no history with these sorts of offences.

Granted, in amongst these cases are offenders from all sorts of religious and racial backgrounds, but the majority are not.

Short answer is yes. But it isn't just the media, it's police, politicians, local government agencies etc. We fuel our own problems by ignoring things for the sake of upsetting certain vocal minorities.

One of the ongoing Rotherham court cases.
A defendant in a Rotherham child sexual exploitation investigation has had his passport seized – while one of his co-accused missed a court date on medical grounds.

Sajid Bostan, who has been vice-chairman of the Rotherham Private Hire Drivers Association, was granted bail at Rotherham Magistrates Court – on the condition that he handed in his passport.

At the same hearing this afternoon, a lawyer for Arshid Hussain, aged 40, who has been charged with 45 child sexual exploitation-related offences, said his client was unable to attend because he is too ill.

Riyaz Shaikh, representing Hussain, said his wheelchair-bound client is currently suffering from pressure sores.

District judge John Foster adjourned the hearing on Hussain until Tuesday, July 7, and asked for more information to be provided about Hussain’s medical condition.

Bostan, 38, will next appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday, July 9.

The decision to take his passport follows reports that another man arrested as part of the same investigation has left the country and gone to Pakistan.

The pressure is on, finally.

Should they not be arrested in Pakistan, our ally in the war against everything?

Well at least West Midlands police in 2010 said it how it was/is, sort of.

Police pin-pointed 75 grooming suspects - most with a history of sexual violence - with most being from a Muslim background from Birmingham.

The report said:
'The vast majority of identified suspects (79 per cent) are Asian (59 of 75), 12 per cent are white and five per cent are African Caribbean. 62 per cent of Asian suspects are of Pakistani origin.
'Pakistani males account for half of all identified suspects in the force (37 of 75).
'Offenders are likely to have a history of previous sexual offences, as well as a wide range of other offences and convictions.
'A high level of organised criminality has now been evidenced both across the force area and regionally, with multiple offenders working together to identify, groom and abuse victims.
'In a number of organised groups victims are forced into prostitution and high levels of intimidation and force are used to keep the victims compliant.'
Pity they then withheld the report due to possibility of inflaming tensions until after the 2010 and 2015 elections. It's in various places out there, google it.

Might have missed it in the 100+ pages here, but has there been any mention of the Norfolk abuse case - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-33229...

Defendants:-

Marie Black, 34, from Norwich; Mr Rogers, 53, from Romford, Carol Stadler, 59, Anthony Stadler, 63, Nicola Collins, 36, Andrew Collins, 52, Judith Fuller, 32, Denise Barnes, 34, Kathleen Adams, 84, and Jason Adams, 43,

or do they not fit the required profile?

There was a thread on them at the time.

The difference is the scale of abuse.

1400 victims from one town.

And the fact that the police helped cover it up because of the race of the perpetrators.

And Councillors were involved in the cover up.

And a woman trying to do something about it, a whistle blower, said she was threatened by the police.

Having been threatened by the police I'll believe the Youth Worker at Risky Business that had their premises raided and all of the evidence removed.

Nice.

Sorry - I only read the last 3 pages of this thread. Several of the comments suggest that organised abuse is only by certain ethnic groups. For example:-

"Any bets if there is an Ali amongst them?"

Organised abuse has been found in all walks of life but seems far more commonly practiced by muslim men upon non muslim women.

Have you just made that up or do you have some facts to back the statement up.

Daily mail articles do not count as facts.
