Don't believe that nonsense that it is a only from one small village in Kashmir, looking back through the thread there have been.
Somalis
Iranians
Iraqis
Kurds - they were supposed To be the good ones.
Afghans
I have probably missed some but it is muslims not Pakistanis.

You live in a community where women have little status / value and cover themselves in black sheets when they leave the house. Suddenly you come across young White girls who have the sort of freedoms you have never seen- you will take advantage.

How many muslim girls do you see in western summer clothes hanging around outside late in the evening ?

Sorry but I can't let you get away with the one from last sentence ..... Just go and watch the last 5 minutes of the bbc play 3 girls,
All woman coloured (sic) or white irrespective are aloud in this western society to go out in evenings in groups or alone ....
and not to be in fear of grooming and unwanted attention
The problem is with the men's attitudes not girls / young women

It's the men who befriend these girls and provide free food/drink then once they convince the girls there 'friends' they demand 'payment'

Personally I'd round up every (in my personal view lovey lefty) person who ever used the comment "Muslim ray guns" and make they watch 3 Girls and then demand then to write an essay on how their attitudes promote this activity

That's getting pretty close to excusing this filthy scum's behaviour.

Explains more than excuses and, at the same time, highlights just how little screening for suitability there has been. What sort of moron expects 'everyone' from the third world to adapt to the first world? Turns out, just about everyone in the UK government for the last thirty to forty years.

I watched the first episode last night, it left me feeling so angry with the people like social services who tried to blame the girls and the police who seemed to do anything other than properly investigate and finally the rapists, hard to say where my anger was most focused by this program I think they are equally vile. The program was based on the actual events of Rotherham.

its pretty much accepted there are many more cases in the offing, this whole cultural view of woman as property needs beating back in the stone age, we are not a muslim country nor ever have been, these wkers have brought their backwards views with them and have no reason to change, are women allowed to pray in mosques?

Stuff ......The program was based on the actual events of Rotherham.
You need to watch the next two episodes ...... angry won't even cover the feelings ....
As a drama it's one of the best I've ever seen (pains me to say it but "but the BBC at it's best") .... then you remember it's actually a factual account, It's heart-breaking to think it happened and continues to do so.
What's more shocking is you then remember bits reported from events but not portrayed on the program .. for example the teenage sex 'outreach' worker saying hello somethings happening here being reprimanded and sent onto a 'diversity and ethics course'. I'll stop there "piss boiling reached"

Easy - 14 years plus 8 on licence. So half served of 14 minus a bit extra for whatever dubious justification.

I'm sure they'll be some people waiting to give him a nice welcome when he gets out.

Just breaking. Four separete trials in Newcastle Upon Tyne, the last of which has ended and reporting restrictions have been lifted:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-england-tyne-408...

BBC said:
Andrew Norfolk, The Times journalist who is credited by many for breaking what has been described as a conspiracy of silence over the issue of Asian grooming gangs said: "Here was a crime pattern that had existed for at least two decades from the very first day we ran our very first article, in January 2011, saying 'here is this conspiracy of silence, in acknowledging this why are you not acknowledging that this pattern exists?'.

"From that day one when we said is what is absolutely, crucially, needed is research to understand why this pattern has put down such deep roots. That research is still not being carried out."

Chief Constable Steven Ashman said: "Why is it that there appears to be a predominance of this type of offending in a particular community? I think that community has to be asked that question...

"I think we can take part in that debate, but it's not led by the police, it's a job for society itself..."

Good to see a Chief Constable use such words. Makes me feel as if we've made good progress since Rotherham etc.

A disgrace that such salient and relevant issues can't be discussed objectively though.

The press embargo makes me wonder how many other cases are steadily progressing through the system, beneath the radar?

He is retiring so there wont be any long term issues for him in saying it that would otherwise affect his career. Sad really.

"Those prosecuted were from the Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Iraqi, Iranian and Turkish communities and mainly British-born, with most living in the West End of Newcastle."

Lock them up for a long long time.
