Ok, I know its not a daily wail link but surely this is a piss boiler in the extremus.

"Leanna, from Croydon, south London – who’s never worked – claims £15,480 a year in benefits, including £111 housing benefit a week, which pays for her two-bed council flat.

She says she’d be a fool to give up her handouts and get a job, as it would actually leave her worse off.

And this way she has enough cash to buy designer clothes and expensive gifts for her daughters Zelekah, two, and Zakirah, one.

Speaking as new figures reveal around 1.6 million Brits in working families are now classed as poor – while the UK benefits bill has soared to a new high of £2bn this year – Leanna says: “Last year, I saved £2,500 and my kids had 50 presents each, including Burberry and Ralph Lauren clothes and dolls, DVDs and CDs."

"Leanna adds: “I don’t care if people get annoyed. It makes me mad when people think they can tell me what to buy with my benefits. I don’t take advantage, I just choose to save – it’s smart. I don’t think I get too much. "

She doesn't take advantage ?
No, of course she doesn't.. fking hell.

Sensational story IMO, still not nice to read.

Shame she is where she is, sounds pretty able and switched on for a lass who has no formal education. Imagine how financially savvy she would be running her own business.

Not many people in her situation manage money so well.

true. Very admirable.

Pity she can;t manage contraception as well. both daughters were 'accidents' Her words.

She goes clubbing every two weeks. I wonder how long before there is another little hungry mouth to feed.

How many more names are there that begin in Z and end in H anyway?

It's pretty easy "managing" other people's money.

All shes got to do is pay the electric bill and buy food/clothes, everything else is covered by benefits, even buying milk!

Shes probably got more disposable income than many homeowners.

It patently isn't though, look around, lots of people get what she does, but they bang on about not having money, buying fags, dressing like they are trying keep jjb sports afloat and bailiffs knocking. I don't like the fact she is solely living of the state without attempting it contribute, but she isn't whining about it and chucking it up her arm or into a bookies.

Personally I would love to see this girl try a small business from home, bet she could make it work.

The exact same style story of benefits mum spending all the cash on Christmas was posted this time last year too. A more paper friendly vesrion would just read ' Britain still has plenty of stupid people'.

I don't get it. She walks into the job centre once a week, they ask her, "So, how has your job seeking been going?" What does she say? "Had an interview, didn't get it." Just keep going once a week, act like a tt in said interviews, take the money? Job for life. hehe

I'd say mostly.

However I don't think she is the daft one. This stupid tool will be getting up at 6 am to drive to Leicester Monday morning, be working all day and staying over night in some st hole hotel away from my home and family so some guys in suits can get rich. Then get stuck in the usual traffic out of the city and the normal traffic jam on the M1 so I don't get back till late on Tuesday.

She probably has more disposable than I do and does not seem too burdened by shame. i'll take a bit of that.

She might well have an ebay account and is keeping quiet about it.

Most of the things I want to say would get me banned.

However, she gets too much benefits if she can save £3000 for over the Christmas holiday.

How can she possibly "save" 3k out of 15k?
