I always thought as a kid that the rich would have kids becuase they could afford it and the more working class families like my own wouldn't have many kids, becuase we couldn't afford much.

How that's changed as i've grown up, the kind of social engineering we've got going on now makes me worried. Watch Idiocracy, thats where i feel things are going. I admit that good people have come from the underclass, but i suspect 10 fold have come from the working classes and above.

I'm certain there is some truth in part of that article, and I'm certain I could support some of its sentiments. But it seems designed more to draw anger from the staunch anti benefit lobby who will make up the core readership.

It appears to me to be a well constructed and revealing perspective made all the more unusual and indeed more effective for the politics of the author - and in passing, why is anger (more likely annoyance) about the widespread harm done by large amounts of misallocated tax taken from hard-earned profits and income inappropriate?
