Bobby on the beat gets KO'd in Preston
Discussion
A patrolling police officer was knocked unconscious when he approached a group of 10 youths on an estate in Preston on Saturday night. Fortunately his injuries weren't serious, but interestingly the BBC ran the story on the national news bulletin this morning.
Is this a reasoned attempt by them to try and restore some balance into their policing coverage, or is it just a slow news day?

There's always been a bad element in that area, I got carjacked outside avenham flats 20 years ago and threatened with a fire arm (it turned out to be a starting pistol).
About time they knocked down a lot of that area and went ahead with the ring road idea and the plans for the Tithe Barn development. Anyway that's enough local news....
