I'll take her in. Just for one night mind. And she's not allowed to talk!
I doubt the press would pay enough to cover her tax bills just to get some gossip on your bedroom prowess, so I think you'll be safe there.

What a soap stars torrid dungeon affair with a powerfully built director in "sex for tax" scandal not worth serialising in the tabloids?

What is the world coming to?

I meant 'talk whilst in my company'. She's a fine looking woman but I can't stand the accent and drivel.

Her biggest chance at superstardom was her highly praised stint as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, yet she quit 5 months early. Why?
Her voice couldn't take it. One off show, OK but she struggled to perform on a regular basis.
I saw her in "My Fair Lady". I wasn't impressed.

Pity she didn't ask me to look after her affairs smile

Presumably if she has insufficient assets but her face/voice has future earning potential she's better off walking away from the past debts, then getting out earning again with the slate wiped clean.

After all, there's no significant risk of criminal proceedings. If a jury wouldn't convict Ken Dodd they sure as hell won't convict poor pretty young Martine.

There will be a host of things that won't be good for her going into the future due to the bankruptcy.

I expect she took advice and it really was the best option.

As said above - just because your accountant tells you what your tax liability is doesn't mean you've got the money to pay it. And the payments on account. And the back-taxes they find...etc

Id love a £417000 tax bill. I think I'd seriously consider retiring the followung year.

The stories of her diva like behaviour on that show are legendary. If they are true, there will be a few stagehands opening a bottle of bubbly tonight.

don't be too harsh on the young lady. It won't have been a dodgy scheme, as most of these are in fact legal at this point in time. Yes, even Jimmy Carr's scheme. He stopped because of public outcry, not because it was illegal. After all, many of the MPs are on the same or similar schemes. Why else would they exist?

Chances are, she has been operating as a LTD and taken more than she should have, and didn't keep enough back for tax reasons. Easy mistake to make if your accountant isn't on the ball.

My experiences of accountants are that they will simply give you the results at the end of the year, not hold your hand during the year when you are taking the money out.

I have to say, I have massive sympathy for anyone that isn't an accountant (such as an actress) and don't expect the ridiculously stifling Corporation Tax amounts.

As someone who just had a ridiculous tax bill, I do have sympathy.

But isn't she married to Prime Minister Hugh Grant and fancied by President Billy Bob Thornton? With contacts like that then surely she can pull a few strings. Failing that Grant Mitchell will have her back.

She's very good mates with Liza Minelli, wasn't she Bridesmaid at her and David guest's wedding, I mean with friends like that to keep her feet on the ground i'm sure she'll bounce right back.

The really interesting thing in the story is the fact that Donald Trump has filed for corporate bankruptcy a number of times including as recently as 2009.

You must have used rubbish accountants.

Do you know if Ms McCutcheon's problems are limited company/Corporation Tax related?

Just the one Eric - but maybe so. Although at 2k a year........I was a bit shocked.

It appears that what happens is that I enter all of my financials into an online system, then at the end of the year......they do the calculations and say what I owe.

No ongoing support. Should I expect that?

In fairness, they have been sacked now - but just saying - seemed a rip off to me.

Oh there's a surprise, another TV 'personality' who has failed to pay the taxman and gone bankrupt as a result.
Will she be downsizing?
Or carry on regardless, as Kerry Katona did?

Nothing wrong with her assets that I can see - certainly not inadequate!
