Mr Galloway featured on Radio 4's Dead Ringers. Possibly worth tuning in for the repeat tomorrow midday.

Peter Hitchens summed him up pretty well.

"He managed to be a pimp for, as well as a prostitute of, one of the foulest dictatorships of modern times."

yes

He also said 'he's a fifth-column run from the Middle East in British politics'.

Galloway is stuck in the past and sees himself as some kind of anti-imperialist fighting the empire. He's spoken about his grandfather and mother, who were both staunch Irish Republicans, shaping his political views. Even now he refers to Northern Ireland as 'being occupied by Britain' laugh.

It's also strange that he denies his links to Islam. People should be free to hold whatever beliefs they want but at least be honest and stand by them.

guardian said:
George Galloway has denied claims made by Jemima Khan in the New Statesman that he converted to Islam in a ceremony in London more than 10 years ago.

The newly elected MP for Bradford West does not deny being a Muslim, but says Khan's claim of a conversion in a hotel in Kilburn, north-west London, is "simply and categorically untrue".

Galloway is often asked about his faith but refuses to answer, saying his religion is a "personal matter" of no import to his political activities. He recently married his fourth wife in what has been reported was a Muslim ceremony in Amsterdam.

So he says that his religion is a "personal matter of no import to his political activities" yet he shamelessly uses his religion to win support through comments like the ones below:

Galloway campaigning in 2012 said:
“I believe in the Judgment Day — not all of you do.

I believe that one day we will have to answer to the Almighty for what we did and what we did not do with the life that God gave us.

And I just say this and I ask you to say it, especially to other religious people:

how will you explain, on the Last Day, that you had a chance, on 29 March 2012, to vote either for the guy who led the great campaign against the slaughter of millions of people in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere — you could have voted for him — but instead you voted because of village politics for a party which has killed a million Iraqis?”
Galloway campaigning in 2012 said:
“I’m a better Pakistani than he [my opponent] will ever be. God knows who’s a Muslim and who is not. And a man that’s never out of the pub shouldn’t be going around telling people you should vote for him because he’s a Muslim. A Muslim is ready to go to the US Senate, as I did, and to their face call them murderers, liars, thieves and criminals. A Muslim is somebody who’s not afraid of earthly power but who fears only the Judgment Day. I’m ready for that, I’m working for that and it’s the only thing I fear.”

One of the election letters his team were delivering in 2012:

Respect officials throw a reporter out of a meeting calling him a 'fking jew'. Galloway's right hand man boasts about certain members of the community being able to guarantee a candidate dozens of votes at a time. He also boasts about certain sections of the Labour party supporting Galloway in exchange for Respect not putting up a candidate in a neighbouring constituency. Essentially it doesn't matter what party wins because certain sections of the community win anyway.

aside from the irony in the last paragraph ,what a truly depressing picture the article paints of bradford. sounds almost as scary as a celtic supporter wearing a club shirt in larkhall.

Perhaps it's a safer bet he wins in Bradford and stays there, rather than coming down to Tower Hamlets and appealing to one demographic there and probably winning. Although might be fun to see what he does in Canary Wharf.
