Had to turn the radio off whilst driving into work this morning as the Beeb were spouting rubbish about the amount of meat and dairy products we eat is a big factor in climate change. They just won't give up on this crap. I'm sure it's all being propogated by vegetarians biggrin
They were also going on about it on the TV news this morning, another none problem that they are trying to fix by imposing limitations on people in the first world, thinking more about what was said as normal they have not even thought through, the few times I have had a vegetarian meal my family had to suffered the following day, my greenhouse gas production was epic, maybe all we would do if we all turned vegetarian would be move the gas production from the animals to the humans.

I turned on the TV right in the middle of this item (I nearly typed 'news' item then ha ha) and guessed within a few seconds that it was Roger Harrabin spouting forth. It's all getting very desperate isn't it.

Did anyone else see Vivienne Westwood on TV yesterday morning with her 'anti fracking' speech which was actually an anti Capitalist speech because, according to her, fracking is all the fault of Capitalism and only with the destruction of the evil Capitalist system will we be back in the Dark Ages using candlelight and burning log fires to keep warm. Actually she didn't say that last bit but that would be the result of her nutty ideas.

I turn the old Hag off whenever she comes on!
Why on earth planet would anyone take any notice of her anyway?

Maybe using her to "promote" the anti-fracking cause is a ploy to destroy the credibility of the objectors?

During the rant about too much meat, etc., on R4 this morning they lightly touched on the subject of population growth. Bearing in mind how much evil in the form of child abuse in Rotherham was perpetrated in UK under the noses of the establishment but ignored in the name of political correctness (cowardice), how long will it be before the similarly deliberately ignored matter of overpopulation is acknowledged?

There is no overpopulation issue if we take the Earth as a whole into account - we have a distribution and possible arable land issue (can be cured with cheap energy) but not over population (latest estimates put the peak at 2050-70 at around 10 billion then reducing after that) .

Forget your short-term weather forecasting.

The UN has got itself a time machine, and is broadcasting actual weather from 2050...

What happened to the sabotaged nuclear reactors in Belgium story? It seems to have disappeared form the news feeds. I cant understand how the sabotage of a nuclear power plant is not front page news.

Opening paragraphs of GWPF press release said:
Global Warming Policy Foundation Launches Campaigning Arm

London, 02 September 2014

Five years after its inauguration in 2009, the Global Warming Policy Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of its new campaigning arm, the Global Warming Policy Forum.

The new organisation will be able to conduct campaigns and activities which do not fall squarely within the Foundation’s remit as an educational charity.

This arrangement reflects those used by other organisations with dual structures, such as Amnesty International UK and Greenpeace UK.
Excellent news, the gloves are off.

Well, it's hard work dealing with the readership.

Just now looking at the page I noticed the top 5 of the "Most Viewed" articles list (whatever that really means) were lasted as follows.

1. Putin claims Russian forces 'could conquer Ukraine capital in two weeks'
2. Nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence and others posted online by alleged hacker
3. Jennifer Lawrence and Rihanna among celebrity victims of hacked nude photos
4. Chinese authorities offer cash to promote interethnic marriages
5. Neanderthal abstract art found in Gibraltar cave

Well, I suppose we should be relatively impressed that 2 and 3 were not above 1.

Whether most of the views were coming from a cave in Gibraltar may be something to investigate.
