The car belonged to his security contingent, which was reversing via a disabled bay while he went to get food. Non story.
Except it is a news story, and I don't believe the old addage "Any publicity is good publicity" holds true for a politician (except Boris, and nobody knows how he manages that).

Surely these days when everyone has a mobile phone and a direct line to a national newspaper you'd want to be a bit more careful about stuff like this?
The fact that it has been so widely publicised does not mean it is a 'news story', but rather reflects the agenda of much of the media.

All politicians, and particularly on the right, need to take extreme care what they do, say, or who they associate with. But even if they do so, that doesn't mean they will not be subject to concocated attacks like this, or the earlier fuss on the train.

If he was on the M4, shouldn't he have been using the train instead? First class, of course wink
