Am i the only one here who is not shocked by this? obviously yes the timing is designed to make an impact and yes this means he is a tt.

All(well that I am aware of) religions believe that people who do not prey to their particular god will go to hell.

Catholics as well as muslims believe this, his views should not come as a shock to anybody surely?

You are going to hell if you have not been christened for gods sake original sin and all that malarkey. Babies who died before getting water splashed on their heads are already there according to many Christians.

Gutting!
I don't think they get 72 virgins.

If it was that many I'd have looked more seriously at converting.

Isn't it 27?

I think it's more likely to be 72 year old virgins than 72 virgins.

But that sounds like whiskey that's been left to mature in ex-beer barrels for several decades.

There is a reason why they are still virgins though,

I think it's a good thing that people like him are allowed to 'protest' and make these comments publicly. In theory, if they did their job right, it makes life easier for the security services. At least they can identify all the nutters who turn up to his meetings and protests and either keep tabs on them individually or try and 'turn' a few of them.

Drive them underground and things become a lot more difficult.

As for his actual statement made in the OP, well isn't this what all abrahamic religions preach - that 'non believers' are destined for hell. Those offended by this should take it up with the Bible/Koran/Torah etc.

Small correction - Jewish religeon does not have a concept of hell. It also does not in any way attempt to convert people in and indeed states that as long as one beleives in a single diety one has access to heaven (which is also not the same as the standard concept) disregarding ones religion. Basically, be nice and you are in!

I was listening to a counter-terrorist chappie on the radio the other day who reckoned that Choudry is actually quite a useful tool for MI5 and the police. He reckoned that Choudry is what he called a Queen Bee and that the security services learn quite a bit by monitoring who he's in contact with and who turns up to his events.
Yep. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was a deep undercover MI5 operative.

I doubt that tbh. I believe that Choudry is sincere in his beliefs and that he knows just how far he can go in speaking publically before he breaches the law.

That might explain why the police are so eager to protect him and his family.

I don't like that story by the Mail. Is there any need to photograph his children like that? They can't help the fact that their Dad is a gobby self-publicising dick.

The kids don't look older than five or six. I hardly think that they are planning Holy Jihad.

First off sorry for the daily fail link, Why do we still have to put up with hate filled bile spouting s like this ? if he hates non muslims why is this hipocritical gobste taking our benefits money ? More to the point if i was to go out on the streets saying anything like his rants about muslims i would be arrested for incitement to racial hatred..... why not him ?
You are not alone in thinking this. Muslims in this country are also wondering why he's allowed to get away with it.
Well why don't a group of Muslims take him down then ? it would make great PR and stop the below ...

If hated so so much then why don't you remove the tt because he's causing Muslims far more harm than he's going to cause me.

Sort it smile

This is my biggest argument. Far too often when a Muslim is arrested because of extremist views, their local Mosque owner comes out saying we kicked so and so out because of their developing extremist views - but they never say they notified authorities.

"Radical preacher Anjem Choudary is understood to be one of nine men arrested as part of an investigation into Islamist terrorism.

The men, who were all seized in London, were arrested on suspicion of being members of, or supporting, a banned organisation, the Metropolitan police said.

Al-Muhajiroun is understood to be the banned organisation in question, sources told the Press Association."
