Nothing new there. More like the regurgitated ramblings of a democratic partisan frustated because it was precisely during his friends shift that the NSA was caught pants down.http://www.pcworld.com/article/2091900/obama-admin...
Obama has done a data access deal of some sort with major internet players.

Snowden´s first interview from last week, german TV, in english, 30 minutes worth watching.
Very informative and scary, this guy should recieve political asylum in Germany,
will never happen because our govt is too much up the arse of the US.

My philisophy is that the state serves me. For the protection of the society I live in, I give up some freedoms, but no more than strictly necessary. I personally accept some level of risk in life and some personal responsibility.
In light of that, I don't give the state permission to intrude in my life unless they have very good reason. I don't work for or owe the state anything beyond that required to maintain civility and it will not be offered any more than that.
I think this sums up nicely what is expected between the relationship of state and public. In light of that, I don't give the state permission to intrude in my life unless they have very good reason. I don't work for or owe the state anything beyond that required to maintain civility and it will not be offered any more than that.
But knowing that the state has simply ignored this entirely, what can we do about it?
Do we have to wait until we find occurrences whereby somebody else demonstrates knowledge about your person than you've made 'public'?
Guardian and Washington Post awarded the 2014 Pulitzer for the Snowden stories.
Reuters said:
The Guardian US and The Washington Post were each awarded the Pulitzer Prize for public service for their coverage of secret surveillance by the U.S. National Security Agency. Their reporting was based on documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, who revealed details of global electronic surveillance by the U.S. spy agency.
The board said the Guardian US' reporting helped to spark debate about the relationship between the U.S. government and the public over issues of security and privacy and the Post's reporting explained how the disclosures fit into a larger framework of national security.

Apparently all the Snowden docs will be released next month including hundreds of thousands of top-secret US intelligence documents. Some of these even Snowden himself did not want released so I'm not sure how this 3rd party has got hold of them.
