Lawyers will be rubbing their hands with glee. Not just the other bidding countries, I'd imagine that EPL and the other European leagues with be looking for £100s millions comp.

So will they try to convince/force the rest of the world to re-schedule their league calendars for 2 months or do what they do with the 6 nations (rugby) and the host clubs are just st out of luck.

That would be quite funny, seeing the big clubs having to play with youth teamers as most of their squads are internationals hehe

FIFA have "ruled out" a summer World Cup in 2022.
And now Jim Boyce, FIFA vice-chairman, says he's "shocked" to hear Jerome Valcke says there'll be no World Cup in the summer as FIFA haven't made a decision yet and may not do so until March 2015.

Unbelievable organisation.

I think I remember Qatar telling everyone that they had won a summer competition and that there was zero room for negotiation, or something.

I'm hoping some good can come out of this in the form of Summer instead of Winter football in Scotland. I don't hold much hope for various reasons wink

There's football in Scotland?

Apparently, one massive stumbling block is the US TV networks who will have issues with a Winter World Cup. Also, there will be a winter Olympics that January too.

A what larks!

Not quite as funny if the senior players all retire from international football and the national sides are full of no-hopers and kids though. The clubs pay the footballers salaries after all.

And there are also rumours that the WC in Brazil may be in trouble as half the stadiums are behind schedule by some margin

What an organisation

We could hold the World Cup from next Tuesday tea time, if they asked us nicely.

Why can't Qatar build air conditioned stadiums?

I believe that some NFL stadiums use it.

They can. Easily.

Are you going to build every team their own a/c training stadium?

What do you plan to do for the 100,000s of players, officials and spectators when they aren't inside a stadium?

How do the millions of people who are currently in Qatar spend their spare time?
