Obviously this case is far from over ..... but is it OK for a lawyer to make a not-guilty defence on the basis of something that has no chance at all of being accepted? In other words, for reasons that simply wouldn't qualify as a reasonable defence against the charge?

I watched the 'Marine A: Criminal or Casualty of War' documentary on BBC late last night, well worth a watch if interested in this story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b040mzfc

Hugely interesting for me to see from the comfort of Civvy St that ground level footage from Helmand and hear first hand accounts of day to day events/other soldiers accounts of their experiences there.
