It seems that everybody he had dealings with kept quiet about it! Amazing that the charity he was being investigated by for potentially fiddling expenses claims for a considerable sum didn't speak up when he was appointed Chairman of a Bank, FFS!

Drugs and other issues aside how does a Rev. and Labour Councillor get promoted to Chairman of a Bank.

One day voting on how many litter bins to put in the High Street - the next day administering a multi-million pound deal.

Unless she has ever worked in prostitution I doubt it (allegedly).

I resent being told, as I repeatedly am - the BBC even had a character called 'Ethical Man', what I should or should not find acceptable. In matters of honesty, such as the example you give, there is only black and white. In other areas, for example belief in Global Warming (let's not go there) there are many shades of grey. An individual should not be held to be 'unethical' because his or her views deviate from those that are presented by the ones with the loudest voices. Once again, I intend no personal attack.
I hear that. I am constantly reminded - apropos of the immigration row - how Labour and the right-on left would shout down opposition. prior to that, I remember similar treatment dished out to those who opinted out (quite correctly as it turned out) that not all African aid was a good idea if you couldn't prevent it fuding despots and murderers, rather than helping the truly needy.

But, what with the political hijacking of the Coop and the union trying to rig elections, the BBC and many others it opens up the terrifying reality of how close NL came to total control and just how many plants have been put into key organisations.

It really does read like something out of the Cold War in terms of subversive State controls. Bit then you have to remember who the architects were and what they were doing during that period of history.
It is all, as Roy Lime says, rather totalitarian and worrying that so many were unable to see it objectively for what it was at the time.

The tag line I'm reading on that image file says something else, but I'm damned if I can recognise it...

Can't see he would need one, there is no doubt she was a prostitute!

What for? Someone suggested that the lady in the photograph may be a prostitute. My sentence implies that there has been a failure of some sort in either hiding a prostitute behind some flowers or that she is not one so he has failed at hiding one behind some flowers.

I don't even know who either person is anyway, nor do I care.

The Co-op in serious difficulties is one thing, right now I also have some serious problems which have just emerged. I've only gone and forgot about topping up our casserole which was in the oven, burnt to a cinder weeping Talk about it never rains but it pours, what happens when the other half comes home for a delicious casserole. getmecoat

I love the financial services sector. It appears to be rotten from top to bottom and side to side.

I'm confused.

He fraudulently claims 150 k and instead of locking him up he gets to be a bank boss.

Whitewash is what Milipede will be hoping is contained in the forthcoming report...
