according to the report the school has a duty to teach about other religions/cultures - it is not clear if this particular trip was about islam - but so what if it was - given that its such a favourite talking point isn't it more relevant?

Thats something the parent can do in their spare time -in the meantime the children might as well learn/experience something. After all if you are going to take on the fight you need to know the enemy.

The enemy here is ignorance, probably ignorance of the 'Real World' on the part of the Headmistress, who has probably never left the Education 'System' since entering it at 4 or 5, so lack of exposure to the real issues facing 'normal' human beings has likely left her in the distorted version of reality that is our politically correct 'educashun' system.
It's no wonder she struggles to identify with normal human beings mores, she should be pitied rather than pilloried....
